Hahaha. Yep…. I believe every word you said! Just to get the facts straight, I simply pointed out the flaws in the Gris explanations - absolutely nothing personal about it. As for the thread Colter and Andrew Houghton talked about this the other day. It sounds like after the covid year players left they had a big void so they've filled it last year and this year with transfers. There's a thought that this is the last year for tons od transfers and after this they will have replenished. Their lower classes should be more full now with all the sophmores they also have been brining in. We shall see. It'd be interesting to have Vim or BBT analyze that. I will grant you that alot of the pushback on the subject was coming from Andrew, who is very much a gris fan, because Colter was waxing exactly how this thread has been going.
And this Covid narrative is hokey. Every team in the country had the same issues yet somehow it has hamstring the Gris. That is a joke.
If you're calling Colter a gris apologist try again. I'll give you Andrew. (Listen to this podcast for the explanation of what they're talking about the covid thing. I just gave a high level synopsis. Again I know you won't listen so....)
And if McDowell wanted to move closer to home, why did he leave the Gris and sign with Temple. Did he secretly grow up in Philly?
All of this information is readily available.
I was going to give a smart @ss response but I just was reading an article on bullying and even though you're older than me, I'll pass. Have a good day man. I hope you find some joy today.
The flight from home to Temple is much shorter than home to Missoula. That's why. 3 hour direct flight. I tend to take a man at his word. But that's just me.

Damn. This class is ugly. I only see the BYU guy, EIU guy and Wortham being contributors. The rest have all kinds of questions marks. One the USC braely saw the field and the other never played. The ASU and USU guys never saw the field. The Tennessee kid was a non contributor. But hey, you guys landed about 6 or 7 NAIA or JUCO players! Great job!HookedOnGriz wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 12:24 pmThey got 2 USC transfers, the QB Jensen and a former 4 star DE Peevey. I think their best additions outside Peevey are:
Wortham - EWU - all purpose all American
Tolbert - East Ill LB - all conf and all American honors
Harper - BYU safety - was a freshman all American but has dealt with injuries since
Peck - Carroll College DE - all American
Bailey - Utah St DL (nose) - 3 star DL out of HS and all conf honors at JUCO (2 years left)
Hendrix - Ariz St WR - 3 star out of HS and was rated by ESPN to be the 62nd best WR prospect in country (4 years left)
Landed some military prep school kids too who will be good eventually. I think military prep and military school kids make a lot of sense for Bobby and how he runs things.
We will see how it all comes together. Too tough to say right now.
Reminds me of the Yankees in the 1980s, paying big for free agents and trading away young stock for long-in-the-tooth veterans.PapaG wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 12:52 pmHauck is 2-4 against MsU since the embarrassingly arrogant #RTD theme. 7-6 all-time against a team he calls “State.”
Just another good program at this point. Hope he stays another 10 years with his loyal staff.
Bringing in this many transfers is reminiscent of some of the Texas FCS teams who would pop every few years with a few talented drop-downs, yet couldn’t sustain success.
Not a way to sustain a program.
Wortham, Tolbert, Harper will all play a ton and are already proven studs. We will see a bunch of Peck (may have been at Carroll but that’s only because FCS and FBS missed out on him completely). Hendrix will be a starting WR as we lost most of our WR corps. Peevey will play a bunch if he stays with the Griz. A former 4 star with size and speed that you won’t see at this level (he had 20+ offers out of high school to all the big schools).Cataholic wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 5:16 pmDamn. This class is ugly. You mentioned that because the others didn't see the field or were non contributors at their last school, that just “automatically” means they won’t be good with the Griz? I’d argue Riley Wilson and Hayden Harris turned out pretty damn good and were in that exact scenario at Hawaii and UCLA.
You also mentioned that JUCO guys are no good and won’t do anything? We’ve seen a lot of good juco players in Missoula….Cam Humphrey, Dalton Sneed, Marcus Knight, Justin Ford and more. In fact the two transfers you guys signed are JUCO kids…..are you saying they automatically are no good?

I hope you find joy in your day.
I think a large difference between what UM is doing and what the top ranked FBS classes are doing is that those FBS schools are targeting/bringing in proven, big time, players. I realize there are some that UM took in like Wortham ( although big time is a stretch), the LB from wherever, and the kid from Carroll, but the vast majority are players dropping down because they’re not getting playing time for various reasons. I don’t really think of Juco players as traditional transfers, so I’m not including them. Regardless, you’re comparing apples to oranges. Personally I’d be worried that bringing in that many transfers is indicative of poor HS recruiting for a couple years, but I’m not so naive to think it can’t/won’t work for a year or two. I don’t particularly think it’s a good long term strategy at this level, but there’s more than one way to skin a cat.HookedOnGriz wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 10:09 amAppreciate that Lute. A former 4 star with size and speed that you won’t see at this level (he had 20+ offers out of high school to all the big schools).Cataholic wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 5:16 pmDamn. This class is ugly. Peevey has 3 years left and Jensen just 1 unless they work the JC eligibility in for all then he will have 2.

Interesting perspective for sure
I hope you find joy in your day.
I’m definitely not spinning anything, I was just pointing out who I think would be pretty good contributors out of this transfer class. They’ll definitely hit on some and they’ll definitely miss on plenty. Plus, I worry more about team culture, and cohesiveness when you bring in that many. I was doing some research to look at how many transfers some of the FBS teams are bringing in and from what I could tell in the top 10 ranked transfer classes,it averaged 22 players. Those numbers are kind of an anomaly in FCS but maybe Hauck is trending that way and following that curve.
Thanks Hooked! Good list. Did Peevey start at USC? I would assume so if he's your #1 guy out of all 20 your brought in. If not, I'm not all that impressed by that recruit. NO, I'm not saying he's not going to be a dominant force for you guys as he very well may be. I'm just saying I'm way more impressed with some of your other guys that have proven themselves as starters\all americans at the FCS level. Just the way I look at it.HookedOnGriz wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 12:24 pmThey got 2 USC transfers, the QB Jensen and a former 4 star DE Peevey. That’s good feedback and a very fair assessment. I think this year for certain their hand was kind of forced to bring in a lot of kids. They lost 26 seniors and then had 7 portal out and then had 8 decide to hang it up and not use their final year eligibility. Some due to injuries and maybe some due to just being sick and tired of football. That’s 41 kids they have to replace and you just can’t do that with all freshman.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 1:48 pmI think a large difference between what UM is doing and what the top ranked FBS classes are doing is that those FBS schools are targeting/bringing in proven, big time, players. Also a fair viewpoint. I wouldn’t say Peevey is my #1, but that he’s one of the big splash recruits they brought in. He is young and did not start or play for USC…but his potential is off the charts and something we don’t see at the FCS level often or in the Big Sky.catatac wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 1:55 pmThanks Hooked!
