I know the game was a blow out. I know Mercyhurst was overmatched. I tell you what though, for a small school with an enrollment of 2700 people and having just moved up to FCS, Mercyhurst certainly didn’t embarrass themselves out there today. They played hard and didn’t give up. I saw some real talent on that team. I have a lot of respect for every one of those players and their coaches too.

Agreed, they were well coached and well prepared. Just way out manned in the end. I think they'll be a pretty good FCS team if they can keep their coaches around for a while.

That big wr really helped them today. Those quick throws really hurt us and helped them move the ball.

That’s been a theme for a while. Maybe someone can shed light on why those are open? @BobcatBuiltTexan

They did a lot better than I thought they would. Their defense did a good job of keeping things in front of them and making us drive the field. They looked a lot better than they did against Robert Morris last week for sure. Good for them.

Terrible defensive call on 4th and 19.
Not sure the call was the problem.
Rushed 3, gave time for receivers to get 15 yds downfield LB didn't get depth.
Looks like Bryce Grebe will have some tape to improve on.
He and Neil Daily almost played 2.5 quarters with Ryan Krahe playing a lot in the 2nd half.

Also, have no problem not bringing the heat on 4th and 19. LBs literally just have to get to depth and keep everything in front of them. Good teach tape on that play.
Daily looks really fast out there.

Mellott is getting better every week. The passes to Dowler and Jones were very good. The entire play on Jones TD was by design which blew my mind even though I’ve been saying that’s exactly what they were doing. That tree is a nightmare for opposing teams and coordinators. Teams are playing catchup now. Just my opinion. I’m not a football expert but it seems really obvious.

Agreed. They put up a better fight than Maine did, in my "I don't know anything about football" opinion. Kudos to them!

That big #2 receiver made some plays. We sat right behind the Mercyhurst team. You could tell that the mood ranged from wow this is cool to, hey maybe we can make some plays against these guys.

Ditto. It was a lot funner than I thought it was going to be. They were clearly prepared and didn’t make much of anything easy. The score is what it is, but most football programs would roll over in this game and to me it seemed like they were still trying to be competitive through the 4th quarter.

Their coach, despite them losing, is teaching them to win and keep the fight.

MSU bobcats website is saying Brody grebe had 2 sacks yesterday….. and 4 total on the season now? Did I miss something? Ha

He had 1 sack coming into this game……. I thought only 1 yesterday, but maybe helped on others?…. Failing to see how this all equals 4 on the season….@TomCat88 you are the expert, any insight?

Does he get the Robby hauck treatment for his last year in bozeman?

I think he had 2 yesterday. The sack fumble on 4th down should have been his as he pushed the RT into the QB forcing the fumble.

2:46 when Tommy runs the ball and the DB runs up to lay a lick on him and just bounces off and falls to the ground, grabbing Tommy's leg to take him down. We laughed at that one in the stands. Tommy is a rock.
