Wtf happened today? How do we manage to lose more starters on a bye than NDSU did that scrimmage against Drake?

Ha. I was wondering the same thing.

I just hope Tommy can recover. That could be an injury that takes a long time
I was referring to Reimer and Davis. Not a peep in two weeks and both gone today...

Tommy’s injury hopefully is a quick one, he needs a healthy off season to improve even more.

I know the injury bug makes its way through teams here and there, but this year it really left me scratching my head. Beginning of the season a number of our starters were out the first few games from practice injuries, players injured during the season in practice, and players dropping like flies in games. Either they all have glass jaws, doubtful, or they need to dial it back a bit in practice and maybe reevaluate their strength and conditioning… I’m spitballing, may of just been bad luck.

What was Snell’s injury?
He is done now? What a bummer of the end of his career with the Cats.

The fact that MSU has injuries up and down the roster that consistently keep major contributors on the sidelines is eye opening. No other team that we have played or from what I've watched throughout the year at the FCS level is even close. It is consistently a weekly occurrence right from week 1.

Two years in a row went from the deepest rb room I've ever seen to seemingly 1 healthy option. It's mind boggling

Only MSU could come out of a bye week more banged up than when they went into it.

Tommy was walking on the sidelines unaided. Hard for me to believe he won't be ready for next year (though I do recall Ifanse's extended recovery period)

I understand the positive value of double reps in practice, but I do wonder whether everyone taking so many live reps might contribute to our injury bug.

They need to stop double repping in practice IMO.

In politics they call it the “October Suprise”. Some bombshell gets dropped that cost someone an election. In our case, we have to listen to the pregame radio show or X (Twitter) to see who got hurt during the week. The insanity of it is miserably painful.

My Physical Therapist agrees. In addition to his medical knowledge he played college football and is related to a player who retired due to repeated injuries. He says it’s simple — the more you practice (or play) at full speed the higher the probability of getting injured. If you remember, Choate was quite vocal about dialing back the amount of contact in practice, specifically in spring ball and after Jacob Hadley got badly injured in the spring game. Many coaches have addressed it, wanting to keep their talent on the field. The PT also says he sees a good number of injuries where the player is strengthened beyond the ability of the skeleton to handle the forces. If a team is getting “too many injuries” on a consistent basis, then they probably need to dial it back. These guys have lives after football. What do you who are former players think about the team injury issues?

I guess NDSU was doing it wrong on the way to 9 titles.

Double repping is what has built our depth. So it's a double edged sword.

I’m just anxiously waiting to find out if Tommy needs surgery or if it was just a sprain. If it’s an ACL or something he might even be looking at a redshirt year. That’s a long recovery and he wouldn’t even be able to practice until we’re well into the season. Similar to Utah’s QB Cam Rising’s situation, Tommy’s injury would just be one month earlier. Let’s hope it’s not surgical

Not doing it wrong, but you need good luck and apparently a good orthopedic surgeon. Does anyone know what the Bison injury rate was/is?

The awesome depth that got us beat by every good team on our schedule? I’ll take our chances w/ a healthy bunch.
