So we have a guy who played after the gris last won a conference championship, and next season his son will be playing there. So for the standard bearers of FCS football--the greatest dynasty in the history of college football--playing in the mecca of the FCS--we have two generations since the last conference championship. OK I know there should be a couple asterisks in there but it's kinda funny.
But in all seriousness. Good for him. Must be pretty cool to try to follow in dad’s footsteps that ended in the NFL. Even if it is at that community college to the west.

I see Matt Ludwig(Billings West-class of 2026) has a game day visit this weekend. I have no idea how we will keep this kid in Montana, but if we could.
The kid is an absolute unit on the field and would be an amazing addition to our squad!!
I swear, it's like I'm playin' cards with my brother's kids or somethin'. You nerve-wrackin' sons-a-bitches.'

Has to be! Man, that kid can kick. Watched him last year as a junior. I think that was his first year in Laurel. Heard he had moved down here from Alaska.

Wonder if there is any chance that Hayden Hanks decides to reconsider his choice of Boise State and stays in-state with the Cats?

Funny, I thought the same thing and immediately went to his Twitter page. He hasn’t posted anything about the change. I doubt he will reconsider though unless something drastic happens like all the assistants are fired and even then it would be a tough move to make. He may reopen his recruiting but FBS spots may be harder to come by this late in the game. I don’t think de-committing from an FBS program and going FCS is the same as a Junior Bergen move and de-committing from FCS MSU and going to FCS UM.

Let’s take this one step further, how dependent was the former Cat assistants to Montana kids getting these looks from Boise the last couple years? And if the in state connection gets lost would Hayden look back to the in state programs?

Re: 2024 Montana Recruits
I’m sure that connection has something to do with it, but it’s just a part and is certainly dependent on each athlete. Each person makes their decision on what school to commit to in different ways. Some may put more emphasis on the coaches/program and others more emphasis on the school, town, or some other factor, maybe NIL money. It’s impossible to tell what an individual will do without knowing him personally.catgrad05 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 1:18 pmAFCAT wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 1:01 pmFunny, I thought the same thing and immediately went to his Twitter page. I see Boise State possibly lost one big WR recruit who is reevaluating his options, so maybe the pieces are starting to fall. Obviously, that doesn't mean the kid is going to drop to FCS though.

Heard about Hanks possibly having an offer from Washington State. Don't know if it is a pwo or a scholarship, but heard that there was a choice to be made there.

What's the scoop on the Lencioni kid from Bozeman high? I know he verballed to the Cats. I heard they're looking at him as a TE. I hear he is very good, but have never seen him play. How good is he?

Re: 2024 Montana Recruits
Saw him live in the AA championship game against Glacier and I don’t know if he’s FCS level.
Bozeman game planned against Cohen Kastelitz, who was first team All-State and AA receiver of the year, by double-teaming him and he still played well and has size and speed and he’s not hearing much from UM/MSU as far as I know but has offers from Tech and Carroll.
Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

Re: 2024 Montana Recruits
I don't know anything about him other that what I've read in the paper. It looks like he's a big kid 6-4 200+ and was one of more productive WR's in the state. Also played safety.
He had offers from MSU, UM and Tech.
I think MSU has initially targeted him as a TE, but he's open to playing on either side of the ball. I would imagine he'll be a developmental athlete who could play a number of different positions depending on how he develops in terms of size/speed/etc.
