Re: 2024 Montana Recruits
It’s crazy how many of this years best recruits are going out of state. Seems like it’s more than usual.
I can handle losing a MT kid to Army, Boise, Nebraska, etc……. The Sellars to NDSU one still just pisses me off though.

Well, in Sellars case, win a bunch of natties and send more linemen to the NFL.CelticCat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 3:27 pmYou know how to keep them? ....mslacatfan wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 4:59 amIt’s crazy how many of this years best recruits are going out of state. Seems like it’s more than usual.

Owen Reynolds (little brother of 'Cat TE Elijah Reynolds) at Red Lodge is a man among boys this year in class B. The qualifier is that the Rams have played a soft schedule. But this kid has been unbelievable and I'm hoping the 'Cats will nab him.

If he does sign with the Cats, maybe we can have a competition with the Griz on who signed the best Reynolds in Montana in this class

It'll be interesting to see what he does in the playoffs. As you said, their schedule has been soft. The Eastern B is terrible, and their non-conference schedule was bad.

Re: 2024 Montana Recruits
Wait. Is Talen Chase's biological son? If so - and if I'm doing the math correctly - that means Chase had him when he was about 18-19? Interesting, Chase had to grow up quickly, being a dad as a college student...
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Chase was married and had kids the whole time he was in college as I recall.

Re: 2024 Montana Recruits
It's pretty wild because I think of Chase as being from this current era of gris teams. So we have a guy who played after the gris last won a conference championship, and next season his son will be playing there. So for the standard bearers of FCS football--the greatest dynasty in the history of college football--playing in the mecca of the FCS--we have two generations since the last conference championship. OK I know there should be a couple asterisks in there but it's kinda funny.

pretty sure he was on the '07, '08 & '09 teams, I think they all won BSC championshipskennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 12:57 pmIt's pretty wild because I think of Chase as being from this current era of gris teams. Yeah but he played a year after that too, so he counts as having played after they last won a championship. Gimme a break, I said there'd be asterisks there!cats2506 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 2:53 pmpretty sure he was on the '07, '08 & '09 teams, I think they all won BSC championshipskennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 12:57 pmIt's pretty wild because I think of Chase as being from this current era of gris teams. Re: 2024 Montana Recruits
Red Lodge is solid but the rest of Eastern B and all of Northern B are well below average this year. Southern and Western B are where the good teams are. Much has changed over the last 7-10 years.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 11:23 pmIt'll be interesting to see what he does in the playoffs. As you said, their schedule has been soft. But in all seriousness. Good for him. Must be pretty cool to try to follow in dad’s footsteps that ended in the NFL. Even if it is at that community college to the west.

Chase is a really good guy. Very humble. Would never know he played in the NFL.tdub wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 7:35 pmcats2506 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 5:27 pmYeah, I remember the picture of him in 2010 kneeling down heartbroken in the "Halloween" uniforms after we beat them.kennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 2:58 pmYeah but he played a year after that too, so he counts as having played after they last won a championship. I agree. I’ve always been a fan of his, personally. At the end of the day, I’m very happy for him and his family. It’s a cool deal.
