One would think after the last few years UM fans would realize they always rank high in rush defense because every year they’re the last team to play MSU in conference.
Let's look at this statement: "One would think after the last few years UM fans would realize they always rank high in rush defense because every year they’re the last team to play MSU in conference."

Are you saying that, in the 2021 Griz/Cat game, MSU 96 yards rushing, on 41 carries, for an average of 2.3 hurt UM's rushing D stats? Yes, I know you ran all over and around the Griz. But your 2021 stats sure don't support you statement. Maybe you should amend your statement to: "Griz fans should realize that the Cats helped UM's rushing D stats in 2021 and severely hurt the rushing stats in 2022."
What happened in 2019? How about '18, 17 & 16. anybody can cherry pick one game out of the last 6 games in the series
Looking at games in the last 2 years is not cherry-picking. But if you want to go way back, what is the all-time Griz v. Cat record? Which school has won the most FCS national championships? Maybe you should just stick with the last couple years. And, I wasn't the poster who said that playing the Cats hurt the Griz rushing D stats in the last few years.

I am pretty sure that um's rush defense has been statistically lowered each year since '16 with the exception of '21 and your reply is to bring up the leather helmet days. Just shows how little you know about the game.

All I wanted was to show that UM's rushing D stat was not worsened every year in the last "few years". I don't know why that was so hard to admit. Now you have admitted it and my point has been made. One of your mods is already getting on me because he doesn't like my "schtick". Looks like my attempt to have some good discussions in this forum may not last. Oh well. Life will go on.

As for all-time records, since the have been in the same division the gris lead the CATS by three? Think that is about right.

I said a few years, and you only decided to go back 2 years. Now, I’m not the smartest guy, but I’ve never heard of a few being two. Nobody I know uses it that way. So yeah, that’s cherry picking Jack. And if MSU has one aberration out of every 5 years or so, I can live with that.

I personally love that griz fans want to talk about the last century, but not the current decade.

If you look at his original post he said that "um plays MSU last EVERY year", not that "um's rush defense goes down EVERY time they play the Cats"

You are making an argument that the OP didn't make in his statement.

Few is > two, just another sign of your lack of intelligence.

Yep, and of course you know how all Griz Nation loves to throw the overall Cat\Griz series record in our faces, even though a bunch of those Griz victories came when the Cats were in a lower division. I think the Cats have beat a bunch of NAIA Frontier teams through the years but you never hear Cat fans bragging about that.

Wow griz fans are really being lippy on social media today. I get it, it's a big win. But some of them are acting like they deserved to be ranked in the top 10 all season and they want apologies from anybody who didn't have them there before last night. Gimme a freaking break.
Brint W. is one of the worst of them. Normally a fairly level headed fan but not today.

Honestly, where did they expect to be ranked with 2 close wins at home over Idaho State and a D2 team, and a double digit loss to unranked nau??? Were voters supposed to rank them just cuz they're the griz?? Get over yourselves man. I'm sure you'll be in the top 10 this week so Relax.
Worst fan base in FCS. Top ten in all of college football. After the loss to NAU, everyone wanted to fire Hauck. Brunt talked about how bad they team was. Now Hauck is the best coach in football. Don’t be surprised if they lose 3 of the next 4.
Ya Brint picked the griz to lose, and now he's out trying to collect receipts. Gimme a break!
Glad you're a fan!

Also I picked the Griz to beat Idaho, FYI. 8)

And no you didn't, at least not on twitter. You tweeted something to the effect of you expected the griz to hang for a while but ultimately Idaho would pull away late. I'm not gonna go hunt for it now.

I have no idea what you predicted on your podcast, maybe that is what you are referring to.

Texas Sharpshooter Logical Fallacy: cherry picking data to suit your argument, or finding a pattern to fit a presumption.

Almost all coaches lose their first Cat/Griz game. Bobby lost his first game. The 2021 game was Vigen and staff's first game but MSU's run-first offensive philosophy has been solidly in place since 2016. What's the record over that span?

Also I picked the Griz to beat Idaho, FYI. 8)
I am a fan!
And no you didn't, at least not on twitter. You tweeted something to the effect of you expected the griz to hang for a while but ultimately Idaho would pull away late. I'm not gonna go hunt for it now.

I have no idea what you predicted on your podcast, maybe that is what you are referring to.
I had a "in my head I see Idaho pulling away" and "in my heart we find a way" few tweets. On paper they should've kicked our ass (just like MSU should do to us too, on paper). I picked Griz before the season and I did pick them on the pod.

And yeah after the game I was a total jackass, too excited from the game and a little too much bourbon.

Gotcha. Understandable to be excited, that was a huge win for the griz. You're a stand-up guy, Brint.
