Maybe the team should do a 50/50 matching drive. If someone will match the 50/50 jackpot they get to either pick a replacement for SC for the remainder of the season or pick all the songs for the next game (among a pre-established list). The money goes to the IPF project. If it works they could do it every week for the weekly playlist.AFCAT wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 2:16 pmI'm in. The only issue I can see with this is rights to the songs. Is that what you mean by a "pre-established list?" I know you can purchase rights to play certain songs but I don't know what it costs. I'm guessing MSU has purchased some license to play the various songs they do.coloradocat wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 2:41 pmMaybe the team should do a 50/50 matching drive. Yeah, my idea is to maybe have a FB/X/IG post announcing the fundraiser with a follow up requesting songs. The gameday crew would try to get rights to the top 5-10 across genres/generations and add them to the list of songs they already have on their list. The donor would select from that list.AFCAT wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 2:49 pmThe only issue I can see with this is rights to the songs. Is that what you mean by a "pre-established list?" My original post was a joke (replacing SC) but I think this would actually be a good idea and a fun way to build fan engagement. The 50/50 matching might be too high a bar but if they did a weekly online auction for either the entire game or a quarter that would probably get people to participate. All the music would be what they have available anyway, plus the school-approved new songs, so the stakes are low from the university side. It's almost free money.

I am sure they purchase an annual music licensing fee. There are basically two licensing companies and that pretty much covers all songs.AFCAT wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 2:49 pmThe only issue I can see with this is rights to the songs. Curious... I know they have to pay for music. Are they pre-selected by song/artist or can they just play any song they chose? The Butcher wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 7:47 amI am sure they purchase an annual music licensing fee. SC is and will always bee a North East MLB baseball stadium horrible song, it needs to stay in Boston.
Hops are FLOWERS, put in a bunch of them in beer and you have Hop tea...oooh mango pine needle, skunk ass IPA...Yum!
Beer has 3 main ingredients Water, Malt, yeast, hops are added to add a bit of scent and flavor, or add a lot to cover up mistakes in brewing.
Go ahead, call me out. I will school you on brewing beer if you really want to be embarrassed.
Carry on.

Fun fact, the Bavarian beer purity law recognizes three ingredients with yeast not one of them (highly implied).Bobcatsinmso wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 12:54 pm
