Sure, ewooo may out-recruit Idaho at the moment, but I bet that changes in the coming years.
Huge advantage since basically no one recruits Washington state

That is not how championships are won. So glad we have the run heavy offense.

Yes, and much of the support base has come to accept that they are FCS, and began to come back into the fold.CodyCat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 7:49 pmTo be fair, Eck was a phenomenal hire.Cledus wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 7:40 pmAll it took was sh!tcanning Petrino.cats2506 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 7:19 pmHistorically I agree, I think that will change with Eck and the return of UI as a BSC power.seataccat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 7:04 pmIdaho does not seem to out recruit Eastern in the state of Washington.cats2506 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 6:36 pmUI has better facilities, if they become a BSC power, recruits will go there, still close to home, and better team and school. If you're from Washington and not quite what the Huskies or Cougars are looking for Idaho's a very nearby option. They lost that pipeline a bit when they went FBS and tried to recruit nationally-all those kids went to EWU.
UI is unbeaten in FCS now with games against PSU, @SAC, EWU, Davis & @ISU remaining. I think they finish the year 8-3 with 1 FCS loss and make the playoffs.
Their resume will look good with a win over ranked UM, and the only loss to top ranked SAC.

IF they lose to Sac. But, Id guess they will get beat. Sac is straight up a damn damn good team.cats2506 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 8:05 pmYes, and much of the support base has come to accept that they are FCS, and began to come back into the fold.CodyCat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 7:49 pmTo be fair, Eck was a phenomenal hire.Cledus wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 7:40 pmAll it took was sh!tcanning Petrino.cats2506 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 7:19 pmHistorically I agree, I think that will change with Eck and the return of UI as a BSC power.seataccat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 7:04 pmIdaho does not seem to out recruit Eastern in the state of Washington.cats2506 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 6:36 pmUI has better facilities, if they become a BSC power, recruits will go there, still close to home, and better team and school. I agree, still hard to buy SAC with their post season performance in past years.CodyCat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 8:08 pmIF they lose to Sac. But, Id guess they will get beat. Just watched SAC @ EWU, they ride that RB (Skattaboo) pretty hard, if he goes down they may be in trouble.

Idaho has a fairly easy road ahead. Only at Sac State is a real tough nut. Other than that they have a fading EWU at home and PSU, Davis and ISU. They are in the thick of things for sure.

Next two games are on the road against teams that are better than Idaho. A 1-3 October is very likely. They might have to play in the opening round regardless of what happens in Cat/gris.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

Run defense, yes. Pass defense, not so much.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Don’t want to pile on as I thought they’d win this game. But it’s funny to read how shocked they are tonight. You play nobody for 5 games and assume you’re the best in the country. Then you play your first decent team and lose and can’t wrap your head around it. I think some of their heads are going to explode the next few weeks.

Re: Griz losebto Idaho
Not surprising when everyone was telling them they were the best non-Dakota team in the country. It's very hard for sports writers not to jump on the bandwagon of an undefeated gris team. I mean, this team is coming of a national championship 21 years ago. How can you not consider them an elite team?ilovethecats wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 10:03 pmDon’t want to pile on as I thought they’d win this game. But it’s funny to read how shocked they are tonight. Re: Griz losebto Idaho
A good friend of mine who is a Griz fan thinks UM/EWU is a coin flip. Doesn't expect UM to be competitive against Sac State, Weber, or MSU.
As others have posted, 18 carries is an embarrassing total for a team that has a wealth of options at RB. 34 yards obviously isn't ideal, but they were actually 16-61 if you take away the 19 yard loss on the safety and the 8 yard sack (how is this still considered rushing yards?). Idaho was only 40-83 if you remove the sacks and kneeldowns, but they also had the ball more than 42 minutes. Throw in a successful UI onside kick to start the 2nd half and winning the turnover battle by one...
