I can already see the headline tomorrow in the grizzette, Q2, KULR8. “Griz lose a heartbreaker to Idaho….Cats are lucky to beat a determined UNC team”

Idaho would have whooped us last year, but Troy and Mellott had a big game.

Idaho is set up to succeed with facilities cost of attendance etc.

Makes the Big Sky a lot tougher conference and better overall.

Doesn’t surprise me at all.
They will also get some recruits away from EWU. If you're from Washington and not quite what the Huskies or Cougars are looking for Idaho's a very nearby option. They lost that pipeline a bit when they went FBS and tried to recruit nationally-all those kids went to EWU.
I have been saying this all year, the resurgence of Idaho will hurt EWU the most. EWU is in trouble financially and may not be a top BSC team again.

If they can manage to stay in the FCS they will always have the athletes to compete in this conference. They pretty much get their pick of the state of Washington.

UI has better facilities, if they become a BSC power, recruits will go there, still close to home, and better team and school. EWU will still get the marginal qualifiers though.

Better facilities? Kibbie dome? What a joke. The new basketball arena will help but have you seriously attended a bball game in memorial gym or the kibbie dome? What a joke.

I made this season’s inaugural stop by Egris today. Loved it. Loved all of it. A terrific mix of realism (they aren’t that good) and continued delusion (they’ll finish 9-2).

Haven't been to Moscow or Cheney, but they have done some renovations and have been putting money into their program, meanwhile in Cheney they are having bake sales to fund basic necessities.

Idaho does not seem to out recruit Eastern in the state of Washington.

If you were a recruit and you had the choice to play in Moscow or Cheney, why would you want to play in that not-really-a-stadium with the red field?

Sure, ewooo may out-recruit Idaho at the moment, but I bet that changes in the coming years.

Historically I agree, I think that will change with Eck and the return of UI as a BSC power.
