Defining Cat Game
i was thinking about this the other day and wondering the question should wait - but was bored, so i'm going to ask it (at the risk of attracting the posts of those just on this board to be a jerk).
do you think the Cats have played a complete game this year that defines who they are (one you can point to and say "that's the 2006 Bobcats")?
or do you think that has yet to happen?
and why (for both cases)?
if you want to do the same for other teams - take it to another part of the board (it is a good question for remaining foes).
thoughts?

Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I didn't listen to the Colorado game, so it's out.
To me, NAU is the only game where we were in control of the game. The other ones I just felt lucky that time ran out while we were still ahead
I assume Colorado was similar to NAU, so let's bring that team back for the last 3 games!

It definitely has yet to happen.
I don't think the defining game can be defined at this point. For instance, saying the NAU game is the defining game would be way off base if we lose on Saturday or Nov. 14 or Nov. 18. It may turn out that the defining game was the Chadron game. This would be a great conversation once we've played our last game.

I think that the PSU game was our most complete game. The D played Flawless and though our O didnt play its best game, we didnt make stupid turnover mistakes

I can't agree, defensively. The defense had a let down halfway through the 3rd quarter, then recovered late in the 4th quarter.ChiOCat wrote:I didn't listen to the Colorado game, so it's out.

Between TV, radio, and the one live game I've seen, I can't say there's been one complete game overall, but PSU is as close as it's come. Or, split between the squads, PSU on defense, NAU on offense, Colorado on special teams.

i to find it difficult to think that the Cats have played the one game that really shows what they are capable on all facets of the game. i hope that it comes together - especially if it is for all the marbles on nov. 18th. the Cats are certainly trending in the right direction!
i would also agree that there have been games (i.e. D vs. psu, O vs. nau, isu) where each side of the ball has shined.
if i was forced to pick one game - i would go with isu though i think the final score was not indicative of the strength of the D.

PSU was close to being a full game. D showed its grit. O did what it needed to do.

One game does not define a team. I am looking for a serious of wins. A season defines a team, but more so the coaching staff. You can have all the talent you want on your side, put it together and all is good.
I will wait to declare a defining game until we have a defining season! Yes, we have a defining game, if we have a defining season. I'm glad we are on track, but, until we go into the playoff rounds, no use flappin our gumbs. I for one am going to hold my breath and not jinx this team. I'm tired of calling beating the Griz a winning season when I eat turkey and watch other teams play. If we are in it after Thanksgiving, I will post a defining game, I think there clearly is one recently played.
Please don't give me the, "where is the CAT attitude and loayality speach", I am loayal, that is why I am demanding a winning season, not merely a good game. Sorry, been here too many times to get over confident. Going into the playoffs is my demand for this program, anything less is giving an upper hand to the enemy, and is less than loyal! We deserve better, and better expect better. This program must go to the next level, and build year by year. We demand that of our players, we must demand that of this program. Let it fly, I expect greatness of MSU, and will defend that expectation until achieved.

Well put! I have been keeping quiet too. There are so many naysayers outside of Bozeman and I think that that is GREAT. We will be there when it is time to explode onto the scene IMHO.
