Anyone else nervous about the next 2 weeks?

The reason I say this is because we should be considered a favorite with both games at home vs teams that are a combined 3-11 (1-7 in the Sky).

I guess we are really going to find out if our team and coaches can handle being the "favorite" and playing @ home. Although a loss wouldn't automatically rule out the playoffs (we'd still have a shot at the BSC auto-berth if the Griz drop one of the next 3), I'd really hate to see us have to go that route.

Clearly the Weber game appears to be the most difficult, especially considering how well they played with Pazzaro back at the helm vs the Griz.

I'm confident we'll keep rolling; Swogger and the Griz recieviers shredded the Weber D for 300+ (but just ONE TD?) and IMO our passing game is clicking AT LEAST as well as theirs. Add in what I truly feel is a better running game than the Griz's right now, and I don't see how we CAN'T score enough points to beat the Wildcats. Statistics aside, I think our D is playing at least as well as the Griz right now (although we still don't take the ball away as well as they do), so again, I'm very confident that we SHOULD get a W vs the toughest of our next 2 opponents.

HOWEVER, looking back over the past 4 or 5 seasons, it seems like nearly every time we are in this situation, we find a way to lose a critical game. IF we manage to hold serve vs Weber, I'll be even more nervous the following Saturday vs UNC.

I sincerely hope those days & games are behind us and in 3+ weeks, we find ourselves rolling into WaGriz with a shot at the Big Sky title AND the auto-berth in the playoffs...

I think worrying about Weber is legit. For as many problems as they have had this year they came out ready to play last Sat, especially on O. Their D was pretty good, but I wasn't that impressed with the Griz O over all, though there were some great plays. Chambers had two incredible catches, and others had nice catches too, and Brady Green had a couple real nice runs where he looked like the was bottled up.
The Griz did not tackle well on D, but other than that it was Weber's O that deserves credit as opposed the the Griz D not getting the job done.
They had a nice game plan.

I wonder how pumped they will be to play the cats, either they got a bunch of confidence and will play as good or better agaist the cats, or they will fold up mentally now that their super bowl is over.

You've got to worry about any team, but UNC should not be a problem as compared to Weber.

If you lose another, the Griz must lose 2 of the next 3 for you to win the auto.

With how this season has gone so far, I don't see how you can not be nervous about a game regardless of how bad the opposing team looks on paper...

Not true. We would have two conference losses and the griz would have one. If we then beat the griz we would get the auto-bid since we would both have two losses and we would win the head to head matchup. Of course you may have been referring to Cat/griz as one of the two losses the griz needed for us to win the auto. If that is the case then you are correct.

I was, because there's only 3 conference games left. Either way, the inital quote was incorrect. It's either one of the next two, or two of the next 3.

Hopefully the loss to Chadron State will serve as a reminder to them that anyone on the schedule can beat you if you are not ready to play. They should cruise, but that’s what everyone thought when they went to Sac State in 2004.

These games usually make me nervous but for some reason I have confidence in this team to get the job done. We are playing well and improving every week. There is talk of stadium modifications and excitement throughout Bobcat Athletics. This team looked as bad as it possibly could have earlier this year, now they have scratched their way back into this thing. I fully expect this team to win out the rest of the year and host a home playoff game. This is what Bobcat fans have wanted for years- confidence. We are going to win. Make sure you are there to see it. Go Bobcats!!

there's no jinx anymore this season. It doesn't matter what anyone does..this team is just in the groove now and I think all the players no their rolls, and more importantly, their responsibilities.

They are having way to much fun to let any voodoo get in the way of a good season.

I'm not saying that Weber and UNC will be cake walks...what I am saying is that the Cats won't underestimate any opponent from here on out.

There is something that makes me very nervous about the game against Weber. It's a psychological thing for Weber as the Bobcats have not only come from behind to beat them on a last-second, game-ending, walk-off field goal (notice terminology here

) not only in last year's game, but two years in a row. With that, Weber needs little further motivation to play the Bobcats. They will be hungry for a win, and we need to be as well. Northern Colorado will be ready to play as they will want a win to salvage some good feelings from the rough season they've had to date. Their last trip here (in 2003) was a surprise to Bobcat fans as UNC turned a 10-0 deficit into a 14-10 win. I think this is when the Bobcats come out and prove to themselves if they are an elite team in the Big Sky conference. Give 'em hell, Cats!

What I like right now about the Bobcats is their mental preparation for a game. Aside from the x's and o's that have to do with schematics a team presents, this team is not wasting energy or time on who they play next. Kramer is jamming it down their throat every second of the day that they cannot worry about who they are playing. As long as they do their jobs, it doesn't matter because the rest will take care of itself.
Also, Kramer is making sure they aren't talking about conference titles, being ranked, playoffs or anything because they embarassed themselves so badly in that three game stretch that they just need to concentrate on making up for it over the course of the rest of the regular season.

i.e. this team has it's nose to the grindstone and isn't looking up until the ride is over.

Their running back is very good and only a frosh. Small and hard hitting. He will be good in years to come. If you can't slow him down then I think it will be a long game for the Cats. If you can make Weber one dimensional you should win. Pizzaro made some great plays. Our passing game finally came together. Yeah, one passing TD but that's due to getting tackled on the goal line a few times and running it in from there. Our running game is sucking right now so we were pretty one dimensional our selves. Weber has some speedy WR's and a couple of good DB's. I'll be suprised if the Cats don't win this one.
