Jefferson of the Big Sky

Post by Shakermaker » Mon Oct 23, 2006 12:52 am

With Jefferson's 5 TD catches yesterday (Damn impressive and scary this Griz fan has to say) and Swogger throwing for 359 yards for the Griz The Sky is looking pretty damn good through the air right now. Last time I checked NAU had a good passing game and Portland wasn't shabby either.

Furthermore, Jefferson will be playing on Sundays. That Mofo is flat out impressive. Thank God he's a senior if your not a cat fan.

One thing you hope for when you catch a gem of a I-A drop down is they bring some buddies. Kudos to Kolone, as I'm sure he had some influence in Jefferson's decision to come here.

Rat farts because he's a senior.

He is making a case for MVP of the Sky for sure. I think he had 3 TD's recieving and 2 rushing. In my opinion that almost more impressive than if all were receiving TD's.

NO way man. Scoring on the reverse shows that the reciever has both quickness and speed. Look at randel el from the redskins, this is his play in the nfl cause he is so fast.

Yep! He is the Ladanian of the Big Sky. He probably should throw a couple TDs and kick for us too! :D

He come a way's since the Chadron and Davis games where he couldn't catch a cold. Remember that wide open drop he had against Davis out in the flat-nobody within 10 yards. It probably also helps that our quarterbacks have reduced the number of hospital balls throw to our receivers (especially a problem for Carpenter). Jefferson's turn-around conicides with the Bobcat's winning steak. And from what I've seen he's been pretty classy about it. Also credit to Kramer who said after the Davis debacle that we're going to continue to throw to him. I think I would have buried him on the depth chart after that game.

Jefferson has all the talent in the world but I think he is at his best indoors on artificial turf. I don’t think he likes a muddy wet field and I am quite sure he doesn’t like a cold frozen one. We shall see how he does in Montana in November and hopefully December.

It's hard to refute the fact that his two biggest games have come on turf in domes this year.

But, have you ever just watched him play in and play out? All game long he just gives it his all.

I think some games teams have schemed better against him. But, to me, that's another MVP vote as it really opens up the games the other two can and have had.

Rolo probably adds some fairly significant number potential to Jefferson also. Look at the one game that Cory did stretch the vertical portion of the field. Rolo does this every game.

I definitely concur barechest. I have to listen to the cat’s games on the radio since I don't live in the area but from what I hear he is a very hard working player. I am certainly not ripping on Jefferson. However, I just suspect that he prefers carpet and climate controls to rain, wind and snow.

Hmmm, Let's see Jefferson had a 200+ yard game vs NAU. Then in the third game after that one, he had another 200+ yard game. So, who's our third opponent after ISU? :)

How 'bout bret Favre. There are lots of players that just cannot perform in cold weather. I am not saying that about Jefferson but I was just making the point. Sorry you missed it.

I will never forget watching EWU when Mason broke one, Jefferson ran an EWU guy down from 10-15 yards behind and threw a legal block (not in the back) that gained the play at least 5-10 more yards. It was a pure combination of speed and desire. He is exteremly valuable as a blocker. Can't see it in the stat column, but it's a huge part of Jefferson's game that has caught my eye more than once.
