Former Bobcats in the NFL
Obviously the Bears lost last weekend so Hardy's season is over, but Ty Okada and Alex Singleton both have big games this weekend! Wouldn't that be something if they met for the Super Bowl?!?!
On another note, it's interesting how the majority of former Bobcats playing in the NFL currently are defensive players. I'm sure that's not always been the case though. There are several former Big Sky conference players on the offensive side, like Cooper Kupp and Efton Chisum though.

Well seems I’m a Broncos fan by default, I was born there, Alex Singleton is more than deserving but a reality check says their not getting past the Pats unfortunately. I’m not a Seahawks fan at all but would love to see Okada and Kupp get a ring. I see the Hawks winning it all with the way they’ve been playing.nanacat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 22, 2026 10:51 pmObviously the Bears lost last weekend so Hardy's season is over, but Ty Okada and Alex Singleton both have big games this weekend! Just kidding, I'm sure Kupp is a nice person.
Denver has their work cut out for them, but I'm not giving up yet.

I count 7 players in this Seattle Rams game that played in Bobcat stadium.

I’m not sure if those were all of the FCS players in that game, but probably close. So, 7 out of 106 players. Even if there were more, call it 10 out of 106. That’s not much!Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 8:07 pmI count 7 players in this Seattle Rams game that played in Bobcat stadium.

The FCS has some fantastic talent, but let’s be real, it is the JV league. We won the national championship and Oregon blew us out. Would it have been closer if the game was at the end of the year? Maybe, but Oregon was playing backups and wasn’t exactly trying…
I love so many things about FCS football, but yeah, it is a JV league. The best few teams could compete in G5 to a point, but that’s about it.

Oregon blew out half the teams they played, including the first 2 in the CFP. Not a great example.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 9:25 pmI’m not sure if those were all of the FCS players in that game, but probably close. So, 7 out of 106 players. It’s the ideal example. They crushed a very good G5 team, who proved that they aren’t on the same level. The Texas Tech game was only a blowout if you’re box score scouting and didn’t watch the game.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 9:29 pmOregon blew out half the teams they played, including the first 2 in the CFP. The FCS a subpar league. Realistically, every year, you know that the championship will come down to a team from the dakotas or a team from Montana. Nobody else consistently matters. Shoot, look at the BSC, it completely sucks and it’s one of the best conferences! Most of the games MSU plays are over by halftime. Calling it JV may be harsh, but compared to the P4, it absolutely is.

Sure, compared to the P4, all of college football in the JV, including the G5. The P4 has been professional football for a long time now. I guess you could even say the P4 is the JV to the NFL.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 11:18 pmIt’s the ideal example. The FCS championship included a team from Illinois this year and there were other competitive teams showing up from Texas and even Connecticut. I’m betting other teams will start to rise up. Heck, South Dakota teams haven’t exactly been a force for that long. They are now though. Who ever thought five years ago that UC Davis would start to field decent teams?

Of course college football is a JV level compared to the NFL. It’s not an insult, it’s just reality.AFCAT wrote: ↑Mon Jan 26, 2026 12:29 amSure, compared to the P4, all of college football in the JV, including the G5.
