I’m betting the gris pick Pressley up. They need a splash Montana pick up and he would fit the bill.

Re: 2026 Montana Recruits
After seeing Pressley featured in this Adam Botkin video, I can definitely see this happening. The former Griz kicker turned social media star is probably in his ear telling him to go to UM. This video was posted 2 days ago, almost in correlation with his decommit...

I’d be surprised if they did. They are pretty damn excited about their QB out of Washington Brady Jay. Just from this past season, 72 passing TDs, 350 yards per game, 70% completion rate, 6 picks on 438 throws and ran for 398 on 54 carries.

Re: 2026 Montana Recruits
Victor has a good article about our new QB, Joseph Janney. Interesting to me that he's coming on as a partial scholarship.
BOZEMAN — Joseph Janney’s journey to Montana State took an uncertain route.
The quarterback from Klamath Falls, Oregon, attended an MSU football camp over the summer. He impressed MSU’s coaches there, but they already had a big group of young QBs and a commitment from another Class of 2026 signal caller, Kalispell Glacier’s Jackson Presley.
In late July, Presley flipped his commitment from MSU to Sacramento State (he terminated his contract with Sac State last week after head coach Brennan Marion took another job). That put Janney firmly on MSU’s prospect priority list.

“Quarterback was a little bit of a roller coaster for us in this recruiting season,” MSU head coach Brent Vigen said last week. “Joseph was in our camp. We really liked him. We didn't necessarily do anything with him at that time. Once our spot opened up, we took our time through the course of the fall to evaluate a couple different guys, and Joseph is the one that ultimately we feel really good about.”
The Bobcats extended an offer to Janney about a week before the NCAA football early signing period began, and he waited to make his decision until after his Henley Hornets played in the 4A state title game on Nov. 29 (they lost to Cascade). Not long after that game ended, he committed to MSU, and he signed his letter of intent last week.
“I'm extremely thankful for the opportunity I get to play at the next level,” Janney told 406 MT Sports on Thursday. “Montana State is a great program to do that at, so I'm pumped.”
Janney’s only other college offer came from NAIA Southern Oregon. He’ll receive a partial scholarship from MSU, he added.
The 6-foot, 190-pound right-hander completed 59.5% of his passes for 1,619 yards, 16 touchdowns and one interception with 729 rushing yards and 12 TDs on 11.2 yards per carry this past season, according to MaxPreps. Janney also played safety and finished his senior season with 19 tackles (18 solo), one tackle for loss and a pass deflection.
“I really like that he plays defense,” MSU offensive coordinator Pete Sterbick said in a signing day press release last week. “He shows a lot of toughness playing safety. He’s just a really good all-around athlete who did a great job at camp here this summer, and I’m really excited about him.”
Janney also won 2024 state track and field championships in the 100 and 200 meters with personal-best times of 10.74 and 21.48 seconds, respectively.
The main MSU coaches who recruited Janney were Sterbick and Vigen, he said.
“Brings a lot to the table as far as who he is as an athlete and a competitor,” Vigen said. “Definitely throws it well enough, and that really continued to show up through the course of this fall. Leading his team to the state championship game was awfully impressive, as well.
“Really excited about what Joseph can become.”
Janney is excited to play for two coaches who’ve developed elite QBs, such as Walter Payton Award winner Tommy Mellott at MSU, future NFL MVP Josh Allen at Wyoming (when Vigen was the OC there) and Division II player of the year John Matocha at Colorado School of Mines (when Sterbick was the OC there).
“How they treated me when I went up there a couple times and how they approached me going in there being an Oregon kid, that was very important for me,” Janney said, adding, “In high school, I didn't have much quarterback coaching, so to get coached by those two guys who really know the position well and know what they're talking about, I think that's going to be huge for me.”
Before Wyoming, Vigen was the OC at multi-time FCS champion North Dakota State. Sterbick, in his first season as a Bobcat, reached consecutive D-II title games at Mines (first as the OC, then as the head coach). Both helped MSU win its second straight Big Sky Conference title and earn the No. 2 seed in the FCS playoffs. The Cats will host Stephen F. Austin in the quarterfinals Friday night.
“Winning, to me, is very important,” Janney said. “I'm super pumped to get to go into a winning program and try and earn my way up the rankings. I think it's going to be a blast.”

Re: 2026 Montana Recruits
His only other offer was a local NAIA school. Sounds like a project. That's likely why he's on a partial.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

I think the interesting part is that he’s not a walk-on.coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed Dec 10, 2025 3:39 pmHis only other offer was a local NAIA school. Sounds like a project. That's likely why he's on a partial.

Another interesting part that might have caught the coach's eye was this:
"Janney also won 2024 state track and field championships in the 100 and 200 meters with personal-best times of 10.74 and 21.48 seconds, respectively."
Pretty decent as a Junior. You can't teach speed. They likely see other options for putting him to work even if he doesn't work out at QB.

Re: 2026 Montana Recruits
We'll see if this kid is good enough for that level of football. Absolutely not a knock on him and he very well may be. The Griz hit the lottery on getting the Peck kid to come to Missoula with his remaining year of eligibility. That kid is a beast, I think he was the Frontier player of the year, could have been playing D1 football at a big time program. Kind of like the defensive version of that TE Fitsimmons? from Carroll several years ago that played in the NFL.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Matt Ludwig reopened his recruitment after the disaster that’s unfolding in Ann Arbor.
