Our defense is championship quality but offense is not. Since we have most of the OL and RB's back, leads me to believe it's either Lamson or Sterbick's play calling. Why would you continue to call for QB designed runs in the red zone after multiple failures? Backs appear to be trying to hit slots that are already closed. It's a major problem if these issues aren't ironed out by November. Sorry for the pessimism but I see us struggling against UCD and not getting out of WaGriz with the W.

That was a much better looking drive.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Unfortunately feeling the same. Sloppy offensive game, is it poor execution by the Cats, or N Colorado doing a good job?

Play calling IMO. On the 2 field goals, 6 plays inside the 5.

3 were designed QB runs. A WR sweep (-7 yards...don't know why you ever run that inside the 5 when the D is stacked up on the LOS). 2 passes (again, really tough to pass inside the 5 cause the D is so stacked up)

That last drive, Cats handed it to the pre-season 1st team all conference RB & they score.

This shouldn't be hard. I can only hope that Stirbeck is trying to put a lot of things on film that won't be used when the rubber really hits the road.

They'll be fine. I don't like the play calling in the RZ most of the time, were too cute instead of being physical. I trust it coaches to have them ready. Our defense will keep us in every game. It may not be pretty but we'll win. It's a culture thing.

NoCo has some good players on the defense but MSU has obviously left some points on the board and should be up 28-0 instead of 20-0. It is what it is, fortunately the defense is so good it won't come back to hurt them...today.

That was a dominating half. UNCU’s defense is aggressive and kinda salty. Not the best in the conference, but solid. Ya, we all wanted TD’s on those two field goal drives, but this isn’t the UNCU defense of yesteryear. Offense still scored on 4 drives. Add in defensive domination and MSU controlled that from whistle to whistle

The Cats have the best RB duo in the conference, probably in the country. But Cats are doing WR runs, QB designed runs, and passes inside the 5. Just being overly cute inside the 5.

Those failures are pretty dispiriting. But Cats are dominating every aspect of the game.

Hate to say it, but the griz offense would not struggle like this in the redzone.
If we go anywhere in the playoffs, the defense will carry us.

Half time report said unc is averaging 1yd per play..... everyone relax we will be fine last two games and in the playoffs. It may not be dominant or pretty but we'll win.

Need to remember, Cal Poly and Northern Colorado are not the same from what we are/were used to. Both teams have excelent coaches that are starting to get "their" guys in.

Who cares about the griz offense... they would have to see OUR defense and I'll treasure our defense over anyone's offense at this point in the season. Maybe I'm overly confident but well be fine. Again maybe not pretty but we'll win.

I think the anxiety of the comments is the fact that it is not dominating and this time of year should be. Defense is playing well offense is a big concern. Unless we are all being outsmarted by Sterbick and he’s muddying up the film.

This week last season the Bobcats were struggling mightily to beat a bad EWU team on the road...and that team ended up doing pretty well. If your expectation is perfection you'll always end up being disappointed.
