What is it with those weirdos? That maroonblood guy got himself banned from Gris games. Something in the water there.AFCAT wrote: ↑Fri Sep 05, 2025 6:21 pmI honestly forgot who Andrew Schmidt is.
However, Johnny is a full on creepy stalker who has incel written all over him. Johnny is a knife away from being a serial killer. I wouldn’t even put him in the gris fan category. Anyone that stalks current and former male and female Bobcat athletes and the male athletes girlfriends isn’t right in the head. He lurks here on BN too.
Oh, and I see that Johnny is begging gris fans to interact on his page now. Pathetic.

A few thoughts.......
* I guess if Colter thinks dipping into the smack/trash talk scene is the thing to do...then that's his choice. You can go on each of our websites (no offense) and find that if that's what your looking for.
* Colter commented that Samuel Akem is counter to Mike Rider and vice-versa. I can see that and like both their prospectives.
* Schmidt trash talked Sonny Holland, his achievements and his legacy.......really...
* Keep in mind......it was Colter's choice to 'air'/'post'/'use' this material.
IMHO, denigrating a person like Sonny Holland isn't sports journalism, nor entertaining.....just classless.

Crazy how some old Griz benchwarmer from the early 2000s suddenly turns into a poor man’s stu gotz with a mic in his hand. Dude barely sniffed the field back then, but now he’s acting like he’s the voice of the program. Lot tougher behind a microphone than he ever was in pads. I bet 75% of egriz couldn’t tell you what position he played or what number he wore.
I think his entire schtick is hilarious.

He had a lot of time on the bench to work on his crap takes. He seems like that type that just had a chip on their shoulder for life in general. Just remember, Colter has him on to even out the Mikey Rider content. Nice to know that Rider would never talk like that on a radio show.
One, I do not endorse Andrew's takes, particularly this one. He is entertaining and I promise you, he is only going for a reaction. I'm not even sure he believes it. His dad coached for the Bobcats once upon a time and his mom still runs MSU news services, I believe, or did for a long time.
Second, this was not on our ESPN Radio show. This was on our Skyline Sports YouTube and our Big Sky Breakdown podcast series.
Third, MIke Rider's counter part for our Skyline team is actually Samuel Akem. Both are Xs & Os aces, former players, love analyzing the game and talking ball. Lucky to have both.
We've only done two episodes of "Talkin' Schmidt". Because of the reaction - both good and bad — I have rapidly executed finding a Bobcat counterpart - someone sharp, entertaining, funny, and not scared to talk a little ****** about the Griz. Stay tuned because that will debut next week![]()

Colter seems to think that the proper response to contributing to the decline in sports media is to double down with the equivalent from the Bobcats side rather than just not associating professionally with clowns. Buy I'm sure he's "just having fun".The MICKSTER wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 7:18 amA few thoughts.......

I have a ton of respect for him and he's the best in the state at what he does by far. I suppose he makes more money with this stuff but it's unnecessary.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

Colter usually has a good program, why would he scrape the bottom of the barrel?
Anybody have an accurate take what he said without me having to provide traffic on the site for his program?

Reading the responses to this thread, I see that Andrew Schmidt elicited exactly the kind of reaction from some that he was surely going for when he said whatever he did. It's pretty simple, if you don't want to hear it then just don't listen. As far as I'm concerned, Colter can put out whatever content he feels will keep him in business and allow him to support his family even if I'm personally not interested in all of it.

Bingo. He’s great for Skyline sports because we have an entire thread on it. There’s a term, “rage-baiting”, and that’s what’s going on. It worked like a charm.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 9:56 amReading the responses to this thread, I see that Andrew Schmidt elicited exactly the kind of reaction from some that he was surely going for when he said whatever he did. Zero interest in listening to a Gris troll. That is why have the “fast forward” capability to skip the crap part of the show.JoeCatsJoe wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 10:00 amBingo. I’m probably in this boat. However Colter often says the vitriol from both sides sometimes gets out of hand. But then turns around and gives a guy that he readily admits says stuff just to antagonize the other side a platform to do it. It makes me personally think just a bit less of Skyline and Colter.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 9:56 amReading the responses to this thread, I see that Andrew Schmidt elicited exactly the kind of reaction from some that he was surely going for when he said whatever he did. Re: Andrew Schmidt on Nuanez Now
MSU announced it would move to the NCAA in 1956. Since then the all time series is UM 35, MSU 33 or 34-33 (is what UM has to refer to it as).PapaG wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 6:43 amThe all-time record for Cat-Gris is also hilarious. There were years in the mid-1900s where the Gris playing MSU was basically the equivalent of playing Rocky or Tech, and MSU still beat them once in awhile.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 05, 2025 5:15 pmI like Andrew and his takes...but its your classic "born in the 80s, raised in the 90s, and played in the 2000s" Griz junk that has been a sounding board for them for years. I find most of it funny but saying we shouldn't claim our DII title when there was no FCS and the Griz were in the same division/league with us is brain dead stuff as that is simply a titling change. But don't worry...the Griz will continue to think they'll win a title with Bobby Hauck despite his obvious shortcomings as a head coach and leader of a program. It works for getting wins at Wa-Griz...and that's about it.
They live in their past and having Bobby 2.0 is indicative of it.

Not sure there are too many Griz fans who are capable of spelling YouTube, let alone being able to identify the letters on their keyboard.

I rarely post on here but I couldn't agree more. Regardless of if there's going to be a Cat equivalent or not, Colter giving this guy a platform is a real low for someone I think many on here really respect.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 12:06 pmI’m probably in this boat. I think some of you might be taking this a little too seriously.
Schmidt is just a big ****** talker. Huge troll. Very funny. And to give him credit, he was one of the few last year who would talk about how the Griz weren’t all that good and their QB decisions were pretty terrible. We’re also giving him exactly the reaction he would want.
Now is he somebody that should be given a platform by a non-biased publication? Eh. Debatable. I personally don’t have an issue with it, but you can’t please everybody.

When Andrew is on the griz fan pod, its the only time I make it a point to listen to the gfp. Outside of Remax,@BWahlberg the rest of those guys suck.

Biggest issue is he puts his Halloween decorations out way to early!
Oh and I don't care about the Masters so him live tweeting gets annoying. Lol
