Smack Germunder style

Post by GrizinWashington » Fri Sep 15, 2006 10:32 am

Following the news of losing their former coach, GSU was upset -at home - by Central Connecticut, 17-13. While CCSU is at least a IAA
team, and a decent Mid-Major program, other schools lost to far worse opponents. Northern Iowa lost at home against D-II North
Dakota, 34-17, and Montana State, fresh off their win against Colorado, got beat at home by D-II Chadron State, 35-24. UND is a good
D-II school, but still...a D-II school. There's no excuse for Montana State losing to a poor D-II school though. Anyone could have
expected a let down after the Colorado game, but still -- Chadron State? Montana State should have fallen completely out of the
rankings this week. Holding on at No. 20 was an early Christmas present.

OWWWWUUUCH!!! Smack on a national level.

Ouch. Can't say I disagree with anything he says there really though. Cats and Cat fans just have continue to take our medicine on this one.

I take solice in the fact that the mighty Griz lost to a poor DII and still got a playoff invite so things aren't all bad for us

Yes, and the season will tell, but that was not a poor DII school IMO. I'm guessing they go deep into the playoffs.

Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Well, the Griz lost to a very good DII, but your point is still very valid. And as catatac says, Chadron could end up a very good DII also.
