Any Cats in Grand Forks area?
We should own a house there by later this afternoon, and will be moving in late October.

We have one friend there, he does happen to have box seats at the Hockey dome (is that right? I know nothing of hockey other than it's played on ice
) Several of the houses we looked at had young boys rooms completely done in Souix hockey motif!
I'm thinking that my boys may not have as many wrestling opportunities since we're leaving Sidney...but it could be worse!

If you love buffalo wings, hit Buffalo Wild Wings, its across from the mall. Love that place. You'll want to go to Cabellas just over the bridge in East Grand Forks, carefull, you'll end-up buying way too much stuff. Dont forget to float the Red River in the summer. You can rent tubes, tie them together, and float your keg right down with ya!
Make sure you have an engine block heater...gets just a little cold in the winter. Sure ya have experience being from Sydney...just wait...I could hardly drive my car (shift, turn the steeringwheel, sit on the seat) because it was so freakn cold!
And the guys are right, that hockey arena is the best I have ever seen. The team is usually not too bad either.

We saw the BWW when we were there, we will probably try that out!liqud360 wrote:If you love buffalo wings, hit Buffalo Wild Wings, its across from the mall. Love that place. We went to Cabellas, my boys thought it was heaven on earth

I don't think my van has a block heater, but we do have an insulated garge. I hope that's enough! I know it gets much colder there than even here. They can freeze their sugar beets and the factories can run about 3 months longer than here.
Sigh.....I'd much rather be moving home to Kalispell.

I like the area, but heard it's COLD in the winter. My Grandma lives in Norther MN, she's 94. So she's survived a few cold winters.
Here's the Hockey Arena. It's a beauty. http://www.theralph.com/
Good luck in your move.

Chi0Cat, how could I forget the sugar beet factory there in Grand Forks...at first it really, really stinks, stinks up the whole town. But then something funny happens, after awhile the smell becomes intoxicating. I still find myself missing it a little
You said you wish you were comming home to Kalispell, did you grow up here? Did you know they are building a whole new High School up here.
Like HellsBells said, Grand Forks is a nice area, NO MT, but it does have great qualities. The spring foliage is beautiful, lots of pinks and whites and purple. The fall is good too.
Enjoy and let us know how it goes. Oh, one more thing, youll have to check out Greek lane down by the campus, the houses are so much better(looks wise) than anything we everyhad at MSU. They make me think of what some of the houses back east must look like. The Frats are clean as a shiny new Keg!

I grew up in mostly Eureka, but I went to school in Kalispell for a few years. The old Edgerton, my class was the last to graduate from there. I consider that whole area "home."liqud360 wrote:Chi0Cat, how could I forget the sugar beet factory there in Grand Forks...at first it really, really stinks, stinks up the whole town. We drove past the campus when we were househunting, I saw a few houses, but not many. I'll definately drive by and look!
Thanks for all the postives and ideas guys! I'm a little homesick already.

Not yet, we will close on our new house Oct 27th, but the boys and I probably won't move over till the next weekend. They really want to trick or treat here, and it's not that big a deal to wait a few more days.liqud360 wrote:Well? how do you like it so far in ND. Its almost the middle of October, so you must have moved by now?

Remember, you are in North Dakota so don't expect too much. When I was in Grand Forks in July I noticed that the street signs are posted past the intersection you need to use.......the jokes aren't necessarily wrong.
What was the last thing Custer told the North Dakotans while on his way to the Little Bighorn???? Just stay here and act stupid till I get back!
Did you hear about how North Dakotans like to throw firecrackers into Montana on the 4th of July? The Montanan's pick them up, light them, and throw them back!

Slow down there! We are quite pleased that we will be living in EAST Grand Forks, Minnesota. And I still refuse to succumb to the purple and goldvike_king wrote:Remember, you are in North Dakota so don't expect too much. Maybe I can teach some NDans how to make Kool Aid. They can't figure out how to get that 2 qts of water into the tiny package

There's an American Crystal factory in Crookston, so I may make it out that way some day.

I have always equated the Packers with the Grizzlies so it really hurts when I meet a Bobcat/Packer or Viking/Grizzly fan.ChiOCat wrote:I am, I am.
