Indeed. Nicely done. And I'm willing to bet that hiring is an intentional poke in our eye by Nate Harris.

I think Binford and Harris have too much mutual respect for one another to do anything as intentional "pokes in the eye". But Harris knows that MSU is the best program in the conference right now and it can't hurt to have another member of staff with experience in that program.

Nate was respected as a coach at MSU by the fans, players and coaching staff. If you happened to catch some of Nate’s post or pre game commentaries during the season he was rooting for the Cats to get a better seed for the NCAA tourney. I don’t think he was poking Cats in the eye. There is a lot of depth/connection between the Beattie family and UM…..including both Leia’s mom and aunt were outstanding players for Lady gris… and they still have family in Montana. Nate’s a good coach and as much as I hate to say it, I think he is going to make the Lady gris a better team.

He made them a substantially better team just in the few months he was interim head coach last season. I haven't paid particularly close attention to what the other Big Sky teams have done in the portal but with Loree Payne leaving NAU you'd have to think that MSU and UM will be 1 and 2 in the preseason polls this fall.
