And most of those were the pop pass.94VegasCat wrote: ↑Fri May 16, 2025 4:24 pmI could probably count the number of passes over the middle by the Cats, on one hand for the past decade. Not deep posts, but dink/dunk crossing route pattern.Common Cat wrote: ↑Fri May 16, 2025 2:58 pmI’ll believe it when I see it!VimSince03 wrote: ↑Fri May 16, 2025 11:30 amThe "quick slant" hive of fans is buzzing!TomCat88 wrote: ↑Fri May 16, 2025 10:21 amMan, it would be crazy (in a fun way) if they did that. I don't see it happening but who knows. Lamson is definitely a running QB that can go inside, Wilson can get outside. Not really sure what Duchien's best running knack would be.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Fri May 16, 2025 6:58 amSure, I was more just curious your rationale.94VegasCat wrote: ↑Fri May 16, 2025 4:37 amI don’t have any secret well informed backroom info. Just a hunch. Keep everyone healthy. Wilson played a ton last year in mop up duty.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Thu May 15, 2025 9:04 pmWhy do you think he’ll play a ton if he’s not the starter? You think they go to a rotation or a 2-QB system?94VegasCat wrote: ↑Thu May 15, 2025 7:13 pmChance Wilson may not be the starter but I’m sure he’ll play a ton. As for his speed, I do believe he was a multi time state champ sprinter in Oklahoma.
I don’t see them going to a 2 QB system. I could see them doing a rotation until they pick a definite starter, but that’s about it.
My take from spring scrimmage was the development of a short/middle pass game. Last year they worked on short passes in the flat and to the sidelines during spring/fall. So hard to say how much they'll rely on QB's running on designed run plays this year with the turnover at the position. Wilson didn't exhibit a desire to run last year despite being encouraged to do so from what I'm told. But he can definitely take off with it when things breakdown.
With all they went through with injuries it just seems like the coaches might want to diminish that by make a couple subtle changes. There was a definite "look" to the scrimmage that makes me think the coaches recognize, obviously, that the player(s) at the position aren't the same but that they other attributes that will make them effective. Might be trending to more passing out of the zone read. ???

Looks like he was caught up in that new roster limit.

Wow, I think he also sets the record for most time spent in a tattoo parlor by a true freshman recruit!

Both are almost guaranteed to redshirt now.

Yup, I think you're correct. I really don't know much about either guy, but I would have been surprised if they hadn't redshirted anyway. Kornachuk is a bit of an unknown. I haven't seen much film on Kornachuk, but someone said he played behind a guy that committed to UW, I think. I didn't see Claunch as a RB, but I'm no talent evaluator.

Claunch actually reminds me of who I thought Adam Jones was as a prospect, although with less explosiveness. They can potentially do a lot with him.AFCAT wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 3:17 pmYup, I think you're correct.
