Re: Howe New DC
Makes a lot of sense to me when he's entering his fifth year on staff, has been a DC in the past at Utah Tech when they were D-2, and already had the co-DC title last year.

Hey KW, has this Ben officially announced? Or are we just discussing the possibilities?

Not officially announced. I was just told this morning. Maybe we can ignore it until it’s official.MountainCat wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 12:33 pmHey KW, has this Ben officially announced? Or are we just discussing the possibilities?
It was announced this morning maybe they are waiting for feedback from players?

Re: Howe New DC
From what I saw the players and media really like Howe. Seems like a fiery guy.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I think he’s a fantastic coach. I wonder if Jody moves in to a co-coordinator role similar to what Howe was last year.
Monte eats corn the long way.

Re: Howe New DC
I think Howe is perfect for the job because he has tons of experience (20+ years) and was the co-DC last year and did a very good job. He will slide into the job without a hiccup. I also think the players like him, which is huge. He also has a Montana connection having played and coached at Rocky. Reminds me of the NDSU head coach Polasek in terms of style and temperament.

Re: Howe New DC
Have we had a DC that wasn’t also labeled as a position coach before? I’m assuming he’ll coach on the line and some of this is just a title change, but I don’t recall ever having “just” a DC before.

Re: Howe New DC
Our program may be at the point where we no longer need to "double up" for the DC and he has more opportunity to more effectively manage the entire defense.
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

Like it. Love the energy he brings. Hope we can make it to the start of the season without losing anymore defensive players.
Punters are people too!!
