Re: MSU to receive Game Changing Big Gift?
I didn't listen to the whole thing but it doesn't sound like he's hinting that we're moving up, just that of course we would if the offer came. The offer hasn't come because we can't afford it, it hasn't come because we don't have a large enough tv base, especially when split with Missoula.
The big gift sounds like money for a stadium expansion/renovation the way he's talking, especially if it's big enough to talk about on a podcast and since we've already done or are doing the other big ticket items.
It's fun to throw stuff out there and guess about what that stuff could be but I'm just happy we're still playing football in January (and favored!).

There's no way it's an FBS invite. We would have zero control over the timing of it, and this sounds like something they're waiting to announce. I'd be shocked if it's not stadium improvements

If I had to put my money on anything, it is that a donation coming for stadium upgrades will be announced within the next 2-3 months.

IF this rumor is true, it has been in the works for a bit. IF it’s a stadium remodel, then you people who follow the BOR agendas might know something before it’s announced.

[/quote] agenda is due to be posted on Jan 2 for the Jan 8th meeting. If not it would be in March when the next meeting is.

For what it’s worth (not much) Player rep on egriz also alluded to this back in October/November. Referenced a big Yellowstone club donor.
“ Waiting for the announcement of the big Cat fund-raising effort to expand the stadium with suites and seats (to get 1,000 more than UM). Largely Yellowstone Club-backed, I heard.”

We better win the natty this year if the big news is a move up. That way I won’t feel as bad when I don’t renew my season tickets and tailgate spot. Absolutely the worst move considering we haven’t won a National Championship in 40 years.

Re: MSU to receive Game Changing Big Gift?
Ok I will spill the beans, I am going to donate my Bobcat blood (and alcohol) soaked liver to MSU for research. From all the Olympia (piss water) drank at St George and the Dragon to shots of Whiskey at the Oaks. Beers and a burger at the Knotty Keg, a six pack of animal beer from the Hinky Dinky. Drinks and dancing at the Gold Rush. All followed by many years of tailgating with friends and family. Thru all of this one thing has not changed, Bobcats are the best.

Like you have to be worth so much to even be considered in purchasing a lot on the Mountain.allcat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 9:13 amReally, how much?

If there is something from YC, I hope MSU is thinking hard about making a deal with the devil and whether it's worth it or not.

Heard something related to this idea the other day regarding the gazillions of dollars in the YC and how if some fundraising might be going on among its members to get some funding to the Cats program. Salaries, stadium upgrades, etc, were mentioned. Could be a thing.

Ty mentioned a $250 million gift, maybe he was talking out his ass, maybe he wasn’t. How much would it cost to add 10k seats to your stadium?allcat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 9:13 amReally, how much?

As any salesman will tell you. don't stop when you get what you want, push till you get to no.
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."
