A gift for who NDSU ? I know it’s a fan board and I know everyone is here for discussion but it blows my mind how many on this thread think they know anything about so and so’s injuries. We know NOTHING. We are speculating and guessing. Carry on

Re: Injuries (heading to Frisco )
MSU's press conference for NDSU is slated for Dec. 30 with a noon start.
My best guess is that Humphrey and Rohan Jones will be close to if not 100%.
Davis is the big unknown. He was injured on Nov. 23 - five weeks ago today.
Taki Uluilakepa has been working his way back and I'd assume he's close to 100%.
Polidore played against USD, but he may have been less than 100% in that game after tweaking his leg vs. Idaho the previous week. I'd assume he's back to close to 100% now.

Re: Injuries (heading to Frisco )
I am not sure what 100% means. Or what percentage you have to be at to play. If a player is injured enough to not play in a game then they probably will not be 100% for the remainder of the season. In this case 2 weeks is enough to feel better but still not be near 100%. The proof is not in practice, where most players go at 3/4 speed. It is the game speed that will determine how they do. You hear the term; "game time decision all the time". I am sure both will play but how effective they will be we won't know until they play for a quarter or two.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2024 6:39 amMSU's press conference for NDSU is slated for Dec. 30 with a noon start.

Re: Injuries (heading to Frisco )
True that. Like I said, the presser is noon on 12/30. Until then it's all speculation based on experience. In my experience, 100% IMHO is when the coach says they're good to go (or something similar) the Monday before the next game. If the coach says, 'game time decision' and then they play, my guess is they're close to, if not, 100%.gtapp wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2024 7:43 amI am not sure what 100% means. So, I'm guessing that Vigen will say Humphrey, Jones, Uluilakepa and Polidore are good to go. I think Davis might still be a game-time decision. We'll just have to see what Vigen says. If he says he's good to go, then I'll assume he's 100% until I see otherwise.

Cat blitz, I’m lmao right now… so sorry I miss interpreted your comment “This thread has turned into a gift”. But I’d really would seek turf info from professional greens keepers from golf courses. Not us arm chair QB’s on BN. Just sayin!CatBlitz wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2024 11:15 pmDamn. Was just excited about a little education in turf management...

All good my guy!
Maybe BN as a collective can bundle our knowledge into a turf management degree.

Re: Injuries (heading to Frisco )
Fun fact, I initially went to MSU for their Turf Grass Agronomy program. The program was canceled after my first year. I think professor that held the program together retired.CatBlitz wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 12:20 amBFcatfan wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2024 11:03 pmCat blitz, I’m lmao right now… so sorry I miss interpreted your comment “This thread has turned into a gift”. Bluegrass, Fescue and even Ryegrass used in the north have deeper root systems, Bermuda Grass used in the south has more shallow mat root system, Also the soil type is more sandy and less loam. The environment is different to besides being warmer they get more frequent rains in the north the rains are less frequent and helps to build deeper roots which helps the grass withstand the colder winter and regrow again in the spring.

Well at least it’s not 1000%, we all know that isn’t enough with commitments over the years

Re: Injuries (heading to Frisco )
I recall a discussion in 2021 that the turf in that stadium is a hybrid of grass with a synthetic mesh underneath to assist with root structure and overall health considering the beating it takes. There was speculation that this combination was causing football spikes to hang up causing injury. Tommy is the obvious example but there were a couple other ankle related injuries during the game. Anyone else remember that being mentioned?

My riibs were hurting from celebrating in the Semifinal game. I was doubtful for the Championship game, but thanks to ice and stretching I am now 100% to go.
Punters are people too!!
