As much as I agree with this, we can't take these stats and then not go with the fact that outside the long run by Adam Jones, the gris held us to not much rushing yards. I mean after Cat/griz how much did we year something to the effect of "it's still part of the stats". I will grant someone that the Jones run came later in the game where one could argue the O line was wearing them down. Whereas the 2 long runs by SD came earlier. The MICKSTER wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 10:23 amCoach Vigen in his post game press conference said the 2 long runs in the first half were 90 yds combined and they only ended up with 135 yds rushing. Actually the 2 long runs were a combined 100 yards......which means the rest of the game South Dakota only gained 35 yards on 22 attempts. Doesn't seem that way but that's what the box score shows.....WOW.....???
Also, coming out in the 2nd half we held them to 3 & out and then drove down and scored to go up 31-14.....that was a PERFECT!

Ugly: This weeks Bluebloods FCS Podcast. In a nutshell. USD lost the game, we didn’t win it.

I haven't listened but Zach seems to hate giving the Bobcats any kind of credit when he's on Sam Herder's podcast so it's not surprising.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

Last week Herder episode was a bit of a Bobcat hate fest as well as this weeks Bluebloods. They give Tommy credit, and that was about it. Obviously they can only talk about what was given during the game, however, there is not much critical thinking behind their commentary.coloradocat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 12:33 pmI haven't listened but Zach seems to hate giving the Bobcats any kind of credit when he's on Sam Herder's podcast so it's not surprising.

Cat’s D deserves a ton of credit, after giving up a couple big TD plays, they didn’t allow another TD for almost 3 qtrs. USD scored 2nd TD at 14:51 in the 2nd qtr. Bobby Daly has been masterful with his adjustments the last 2 games!SparkCat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 12:42 pmLast week Herder episode was a bit of a Bobcat hate fest as well as this weeks Bluebloods. Did they objectively watch the game from halfway through the 2nd quarter on? Defense was way more dialed in after the long Pierre run. Whatever just to win the damn thing so we can stop talking about this nonsense.SparkCat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 12:42 pmLast week Herder episode was a bit of a Bobcat hate fest as well as this weeks Bluebloods. With a couple other comments made I had to hear it for myself. They’re very obviously mvfc homers. Sounds like they are very keyed in to what’s happening in the dakotas and that’s about it. I made the assumption they’re alums of ndsu with their green colored glasses…anyone know?

Good: MSU won by 14 without Davis, Humphrey/R. Jones/A. Jones not 100%, Grebe not 100%.
Only allowed 3 points over last 44 minutes.
Bad: big hit on Mellott.
Ugly: long TD runs.

Link? I listened to the herder broadcast and didn’t get any of the sentiment you talked about. I have not listen to the Blue BloodsSparkCat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 12:42 pmLast week Herder episode was a bit of a Bobcat hate fest as well as this weeks Bluebloods. I’ll have to check but I think I posted the Herder broadcast on one of these threads

Hey, if the other teams want to continue to lose the game to us, I’m cool with that.
