Grass causes less injuries than turf. At least that's what the NFLPA says
the turf in 2021 was bad when wet. in both the bowl and our game a bunch of turf related injuries.

16 days to heal well help so much. I mean they'll still practice but will still benefit from no games for awhile.
Since the majority of our injuries seem to happen in "practice", there is no guarantees. How many times over the last few years have we shown up on GameDay just to see key players in sweats.
How many of this year's injuries were practice related.
Perkins, Davis, Polidore, didn't see Rohon get hurt in a game,

Scottre and Rohan are obviously not close to 100% against the Coyotes. Scottre did get that touchdown which was nice to see. Rohan was in for a couple of plays that I saw. Both had noticeable limps. Hope 2 more weeks will get them closer to full health.
If they are still struggling after 3 weeks off they will not be full go by Jan. 6th. They will both probably play but not be full speed.

I don’t know that Scottre wasn’t so much of a not fully recovered thing, I think it was more of a USD had a stout d-line thing. It wasn’t like Jones broke a lot of big runs. Give him another week two weeks off, like a lot of these guys do and he (they) will come out fresh and ready to go.

2 problems with the turf at Frisco are the variety of grass and the way it is cut are both for soccer and not the best for American football.

The 2024 injury roundup for our stars:

Davis and Polidore had offseason surgery but can't remember if they were spring ball injuries or carryover from playing hurt last year. Dru rolled his ankle last week but still played against USD and Davis injured his other knee in the Cat/Griz game. Rohan hurt his ankle in the 2nd quarter of Cat/Griz. Perkins suffered his injury I think the 2nd fall practice. Schmidt, Dowler, and Danny suffered season ending knee injuries in successive games this fall.

Scottre was not himself in the game. His running style is better suited to MVFC lines than Adam’s, and I think he gashes USD if he was 100%.

Yes Perkins is only in season practice injury I remember of someone who would have significant time. A few times Vigen downplayed an in game injury and players were gametime decisions.

Even though he barely played on Saturday, the fact that he was on the field seems like a good sign.

Same goes for Scottre by the way. He wasn't very effective but he must not be too far away if he played as much as he did and Coon didn't even see the field as RB2.

I didn't think either Scottre or Rohan were 100%.....but as others have said, they were on the field!

Dru Polidore looked 100%, or very close.

Is there zero, small or a 50-50 chance Julius plays? I think the week we played UTM Vigen said his recovery this season was 'possible' or something like that.....an MCL strain I believe.

I see Zack Black played....didn't he get hurt near the end of the Idaho game?

So in summary......losing Caden Dowler, Danny U, & Blake Schmidt in mid season on 3 successive weeks along with Julius (if he can't play) are certainly the biggest losses for us. Is that below, above or about average for a 15 game season? Seems below average to me.....but if Scottre isn't going to be 100 % and Julius can't play....that hurts the most I think. It seems as though we've been able to fill in behind Caden, Danny & Blake very well. Not to mention Cole taking over for Justus and Adam & Garret filling in at RB. Our ability to reload is better than I can remember, which is one of the reasons why I'm liking our chances come Jan 6th. GO CATS!!!

Watch the holding on Rohan on the play where Tommy rolls and throws to Taco in the endzone. He drops the catch. Can’t remember exactly when it was, but the no call on the holding is insane. Rohan is definitely a difference maker when he is on the field.

The grass for soccer is different than grass for football. Different root systems. In 2021 it rained a couple of days previous to the game and then froze two nights in a row. It was greasy and frozen underneath. Hopefully different this year

Let me see if I can find the reference from last time we played At Toyota Stadium. Another poster either here or at North Dakota State turned me onto a link last time that I read. I’ll do a little research tonight see if I can find it

The first references I am finding are predominantly having to do with climate. What we use in the north versus what is used in the south. Not just having to do with football versus soccer. If you’ve ever run on Kentucky blue grass blended with fescue versus The common Bermuda grass in the south combined with soil conditions you might understand what I’m getting at.
Basically the ground tears easier with Bermuda grass causing less traction
Trying to post a link for you but it is several pages long

Additional problems in 2021 was the fact that The grass varieties didn’t handle freezing very well and got rotten
