Current thoughts

1 Eck leaving IU helps us. They're a rant good team that was rolling. Honestly I'm glad he's gone lol.

2. We if usd plays anything like today we roll and roll big. Their passing have worries me a bit but I have faith in the coaches to get it sorted out.

3. How long do we have vigen? I like the guy, a lot. His son is coming to play for us and he had another already in the team. I know he loves montana and what it provides for him and his family. At what point does he pull a ndsu coach and become a position coach to become a head coach at an fbs school? I have a feeling that he sees the bigger picture and money isn't everything to him and I think he is only going to leave for the right position, which buys us time.

4. I think we go to Frisco where I tibia it'll be msub and sdsu. 3 katy tompkins kids will be playing for teams no where their home town. Polidore, mcmillan, and huerter. I think this is the year msu wins it all.

5. Scottre worries me. Rumors of him getting nil and him not playing. I hope it's all just talk. I think he'll play this week. Rohan plays this week as well. If we have both of them we roll and we're in Texas for 1/6.

Vigen has made it very clear that if any MSU player goes to the portal, they are DONE. No second chances if they don’t get picked up. If they aren’t all in, they’re out.

If Scottre has said he is going to the portal, he’s done at MSU. To date, that has not happened.

I think this is our year as well. In the past I HOPED we could possibly win or compete. This year I fully BELIEVE that our team is the best and will have an upper hand no matter whom we play. What a great feeling!!

This staff has proven to be very cautious with injuries, and though they would never say so I'm not sure they felt they needed Scottre or Rohan to beat Idaho, and would rather have them 100% for USD/NDSU/SDSU.

I would think if a young man were thinking about going into the portal, he want to rack up more yards/TDs/highlights to maximize value in the portal.

A lot of people on this board ask BBT what he’s hearing/thinking. That doesn’t mean everything he says ends up being true, but he said it’s a rumor that he hopes is not legitimate.

Aggravated his ankle injury against UT Martin that he's had since UC Davis. Tried to give it a go pregame and coaches shut him down. Likely will be same scenario this week.

As for NIL rumors, money does get offered prior to them entering the portal. That is a new reality of CFB. However, pretty sure Scottre will finish out the season with MSU no matter what.

I think that yes absolutely there have been teams contacting him, most likely with NIl deals (along with other players). To say that is why he suited up and didn’t play though is ridiculous.

Its pretty obvious that he is still not 100% from his injury he has been battling, and the coaches wanted to rest him for these next 2 games when we really need him.

With Eck gone Idaho is Sac St 2.0 after Taylor. Pretty disappointing. Helps the Cats because there is another scrub squad in the sky, but I would rather have some competition (even if it only lasts a quarter or two) than no competition (gris dig).

Definitely seems like it could be a down year in the Big Sky in 2025, although any team is only one off-season away from building their roster back into a contending one.

MSU - Great coaching staff in place if Vigen stays, but lots of talent to replace.
UC Davis - Same as MSU
UM - Yikes
PSU - Always have some talent but never can turn it into consistently good play.
Sac - New coach, should have some geographical recruiting advantages so could be a fairly quick rebuild with the right hire.
EWU - Has been on a downward trend but has stuck with the coach.
Idaho - Total rebuild job
Weber - Has been bad under New coach, another rebuild job given portal losses
NAU - looks to be on the upswing under Brian Wright
ISU - same as NAU, Cody Hawkins is finally a good hire for them. Might need a couple years still to build.
Cal Poly - Seems to be improving but slowly.
UNC - Is UNC.

I never said he wouldn't finish out the season, just saying there are rumors and I hope they aren't true. You don't have to like but it's what I'm hearing from various non msu sources.

I don't think anyone is disagreeing with the idea that Scottre (and presumably others on the team) have received NIL offers to transfer after the season's over. But your original comment suggested that this may be the reason why he isn't playing right now, which doesn't make sense as he is clearly injured and has not yet declared his intent to transfer.

This right here. It is highly likely the Cats will lose Scottre, but as a National Champion, not before. For a player like him, going into the portal late will not hurt. The 3 who already did weren't playing and wanted to get a jump start, makes sense.

I certainly hope he's able to play on Saturday, he's valuable and Adam could really use a break I think, haha. Even getting Rohan back would be one more horse to provide a cushion. Here's hoping!
