Re: FCS Games 10/19
I think we have better offense than SDSU and NDSU but they might have a slight defense advantage. I really think we can beat eother team at home but away might be tough

Re: FCS Games 10/19
I think it is like Cat Griz a lot of negative emotions led to dumb penalties ending some drives. Both QBs made some big throws in crunch time. Both are better than they looked. I thought NDSU showed some chinks in run defense.

I came away from the DSU game pretty convinced we’re the top team in the nation.

Sac leading Weber 41-38. 6 minutes to go. Weber drives to the Sac 23 yard line, its 4th and 2. Rather than kicking to tie the game, they go for it, don't get it, and now Sac has the ball.
Hmm.......

Offensively, i agree. Idaho has a good defense and we took them apart.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 10:06 pmI came away from the DSU game pretty convinced we’re the top team in the nation.
But I'm not sure our defense is quite the same level as the dsu's, but its hard to tell, as i don't feel like we've faced a good offense yet.

Not sure that's true, we have Sac on our schedule so we want them to be rated higher.

Re: FCS Games 10/19
PSU has good offensive #s so does ISU they aren't top 10 but good. Maine has looked okay against most other teams. Cats are not winning 35-21 or 49-28. They are dominating. It is definitely a 3team race right now, even if Cats slip up on 1 game.91catAlum wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 10:11 pmOffensively, i agree. Plus a Weber loss drops them back a game in the conference standings. If Weber loses the conference title race is down to 3 teams halfway through the schedule (MSU, UCD, griz).

New Mexico is a legit good offense that only scored 17 on our defense.91catAlum wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 10:11 pmOffensively, i agree. Right now they’re averaging 456 yards per game and 33 offensive points per game. Those numbers don’t include tonight’s game where they put up 50 points and 552 yards. They put up 324 yards and 17 offensive points on us. Over 100 yards below their average. Yeah, our defense is good.

Wide left. Weber misses a short field goal in the second overtime. Sac State finally has a conference win.

Re: FCS Games 10/19
The Sac/Weber game was reminiscent of one MSU played down there around a decade ago. In that case though the Bobcats won in OT when Sac missed a field goal.

Re: FCS Games 10/19
A close hard fought game is exactly what the Cats didn’t need. Assuming all teams win out the Cats are likely the three seed. Would travel to Brookings in late December.
Hating the griz since 02.

Re: FCS Games 10/19
I strongly disagree that an MSU team with 12 D-1 wins would "likely" be seeded below an SDSU team with 9 D-1 wins. Nothing's ever certain but that seems incredibly hard for the committee to justify.
