Re: BSC Comparison
I think the stats bear out what I've seen in games:
MSU is the top team in the conference and in a tier by themselves. There's a big tier break and then you're looking at UM, NAU, and UCD in a group. Everyone after that stinks.

Despite what happened Sat night, Idaho is still in that second tier of the league.

Re: BSC Comparison

NAU isn't going anywhere unless they get their #1 or #2 QB back. I don't even think they are in the top half of the league with their current starter.

Idaho’s rushing yards allowed being that low after we ran for 360 on 6.7 YPC is hilarious.

How do we feel about this? Note-- I can't find anything about injury status for Ty Pennington (NAU) and I believe Jack Layne will be back in the next couple of weeks.

Are you saying that UC Davis is the #5 team or are all teams in the second tier functionally the same?Lord Vigo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 10:36 amHow do we feel about this? Re: BSC Comparison
I think the teams in the 2nd Tier are all really close to each other, but yeah I would rank them last of that group. I don't think they're nearly as good as their record. If NAU and ID have their quarterbacks, I think they're better. Now if you're talking about the Vandals with Wagner or the Lumberjacks with London, then yeah they should be ranked higher.technoCat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 11:45 amAre you saying that UC Davis is the #5 team or are all teams in the second tier functionally the same?Lord Vigo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 10:36 amHow do we feel about this? Re: BSC Comparison
Here's another stat for the Cats that I think is important.
Scoring differential (FCS only) at the half is +147 points, or +24.5 PPG.
The reason that's telling is because they have played subs so aggressively in second halves. If they kept starters in, their differential per game could be something along the lines of +50.
That's a good indicator of how dominant they've been, which is important as they haven't had a strong schedule.

Re: BSC Comparison
I'm pretty sure the first drive of the 4th quarter was the only action he's seen in the 4Q against FCS competition. Same goes for the rest of the offense. He probably hadn't even played half of the 3Q drives before this game.Lord Vigo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 4:07 pmHere's another stat for the Cats that I think is important.

Re: BSC Comparison
Idaho’s calling card has been its defense and if they don’t have that (as they didn’t vs MSU) in a given game, they will have a tough time beating anyone. They could’ve had Tom Brady in his prime and still probably would’ve lost.Lord Vigo wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 11:58 amMaybe. Re: BSC Comparison
MSU has owned both sides of the LOS in every game this year. Idaho’s DL has been ballyhooed and they were mastered by MSU.

Re: BSC Comparison
Despite the overall good season stats, Idaho has been vulnerable to the ground game at times this season. What’s made them exceptional has been their pass rush. Tough for that to matter when you are facing a team that’s running 75% of the time.

They have? I’m really interested to hear about this. What game or what time in a game were they vulnerable?

NAU and ACU both fielded some runners who were effective against them, but they didn’t receive a lot of carries.iaafan wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 9:25 pmThey have? I’m really interested to hear about this. What game or what time in a game were they vulnerable?
