Cats @ Portland State Predictions
Top 10 win secured, now on to PSU.
PSU isn't very good. Chachere is their playmaker, stopping him will be key. Without Danny U things may be tougher against a mobile QB. PSU will probably score some points, and playing at Hillsboro high is always tough.
I don't expect the PSU D to do much stopping. 116th in the nation in rush D, and if they load the box similar to UNC, Tommy has proven he can beat a team through the air this year.
A win on the road, and an 8-0 record heading into the bye week.
Cats - 49
Not the Minnesota Vikings - 23

I think MSU will come out strong in this one, but PSU is good enough on offense to score a couple times late and make the final score look closer than the game actually was.

Is Robbie still at PSU? If so, I predict he gets credited for 17 tackles.

I know it cliche but PSU is a lot better than their record. Losses 2 very good FBS teams that they did not compete in and a SoCon team that will probably be playoff or bubble team. You could argue they beat Davis and now ISU. Can the Cats get up this Saturday after a stellar showing vs Idaho, in an atmosphere that will be worse than the Bozeman area high school games? This where the 1-0 mentality is more important than last week.

Is he hurt? Number seems low...hiya.
I predict there will be a 7:1 ratio of Cat fans to PSU fans. I also predict I drink three to four too many beers at the game and pay for it on the flight home on Sunday as is my tradition at Hillsboro.

They should’ve beat UCD and played Chattanooga close. We should dominate but the coaches and players need to be focused here.

Nah, will class it up with some Bartles & Jaymes. I know your tummy gets upset with those Zimas, especially with how many jolly ranchers you put in yours.wbtfg wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 9:52 amI’ll see ya there!! Chattanooga was up 24 late in the 3rd on PSU, wasn't that close of a game. Davis is a weird team, and they really aren't good away from home.

Re: Cats @ Portland State Predictions
I agree. Going from the fantastic atmosphere of Bobcat Stadium to the depressing atmosphere in Portland is a huge adjustment. The 1-0 mentality is going to be tested big time this week. The Vikings can be dangerous. I like our team and I think they will be ready. I like your prediction.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 9:49 amI know it cliche but PSU is a lot better than their record. Re: Cats @ Portland State Predictions
Very easy to say this is a trap game. Their QB and offensive skill players are dangerous and they will get chunk plays on our defense. The environment is also like a scrimmage. However, PSU's defense is last or close to last in every statistical category...they are not good at all on that side of the ball. Offensively they want to gash you with the run and set up chunk pass plays very similar to what Tommy does for us but its a little less structured and Dante does A LOT of improvisation. Need the defense to just contain and limit the big play. Offensively we may average 10 yards a carry.

Re: Cats @ Portland State Predictions
UC Davis gave them a real scare (and some might say the refs didn't help), but they managed to beat a solid ISU team. Now, the team needs to stay focused and live out their "1-0 every week" mantra, preparing as if they're facing Idaho again. They can't afford to coast through this game after the big Idaho win, especially with a bye week coming up soon.

Re: Cats @ Portland State Predictions
Bummed that I won't be able to attend this year, but I feel pretty confident. I see Dante making at least a couple explosive plays and us taking our foot off the gas which will prevent a huge point differential:
Cats: 38
Northern Oregon Liberal Arts Academy: 17

First and goal, clock winding down. That's Humphrey! It's TOUCHDOWN MONTANA STATE!

I'll be there rockin' a mullet, 40oz Olde English in a paper bag, and a cigarette dangling between my lips. Would join coachouert and wbtfg for a drink but they sound far too classy for my company.
