Unsportsmanlike conduct during the play? What?

Watching the run a little closely. They are putting every able body defender down there to stop it. It’s not that the holes aren’t there. It’s just hard to make them open up when it’s waves of defenders selling out to stop it.
Yup. Lots of straight handoffs into 8 or even 9 man boxes.

Made a block, put the guy on his butt then stood over him like a tough guy.

I’m really not to worried about our run game. We do have more of a pass threat, plus I have a feeling we will be throwing different formations and motions for better competition. This just seems like full steam ahead into bodies.

If that is called targeting they need to just start playing flag football. It is stupid.

Ultimately, dominant win as it should have been… and 6-0 on the season, but there is still a lot of work to do on the D backfield side.

Once again the first team D looked fine, the throws they hit in the first half were well covered but just great throws and great plays by the receivers. If our greatest concern is the backup secondary we're in very, very good shape.

I've never seen Vigen angrier than he was after talking to the ref about that call. Slammed his headset on the ground and ran 40 yards up the sideline to have a "conversation" with #13. Taco wouldn't have been far off from the FCS record for punt return yards in a game had that play stood.

Was he angry at the ref or one of the Bobcat players?

This team always kinda leaves you wanting a little more. The pass play to McCullough was really satisfying. How many TD punt returns has Taco Dowler had called back for a penalty. Dang, that sucked, but a good teaching moment I guess. Really looking forward to a ranked team coming in here next week. Gonna be fun.

How was the first team defensive backfield bad?

I think the first team did well. The issue I think we all see is as the 2's/3's start getting shuffled in, communication isn't as clean and we start to see some coverage mishaps. Best way to correct this is to continue to do what they are doing, and continue to shuffle the 2's/3's through early and often when the game allows.

Going to be less and less of it. Quality opponents and guys who have likely reached their four games.

We've seen the last 2 weeks exactly what every team the rest of the year is going to do when we're on offense. Load the box and hope they can weather the big passing plays. UNC had 8 guys in the box the majority of the game, and had 9 in the box when we were in 2 receiver sets, especially in the 3rd quarter.
