I was in Missoula last night for the Pearl Jam concert. My buddy told me there were issues with the drainage and they had to pull the turf up and fix   that issue before installing the bubble. Our indoor facility is going to be far better than UM’s. That said, that stadium is freaking impressive. I would love to see our East side bleachers get replaced with something like they have, where it feels like you are right on top of the field. Love Bobcat Stadium, and it has improved dramatically, but I hope we can eventually have something that is comparable to what UM has for a stadium.

“Freaking impressive” the only thing impressive is fitting so many people into the smallest area possible! It's a pit, shoulder to shoulder everywhere you step, the place sucks!
I concur, it's a knuckle dragger paradise

I drove by Tuesday evening. Steel posts? up on all 4 sides. The somethings you see in the most recent pictures. That's all I could see driving by. Admittedly I did get distracted by the coed running across the crosswalk in front of me. I watched her rather intently...to make sure she ran with proper form....

Here is my very small contribution to the thread.

Had to stop by and check it out since I was in town this afternoon.

The parking lot makes it feel so much nicer and bigger too. Seems like quite a few gained parking spots vs the old setup on this east side.

Stopped by today to make some sandwiches on our way through town after a weekend of camping. This place is gonna be SICKKKKKKKKKKK. Looks like they had all the trusses shook out with multiple sections already tied together. The roof should go up really quick, and enclosing that thing shouldn’t take long either. It is way bigger in person. The photos give zero representation as to the size of the building.

How do you go see the indoor and not take and post any photos for your besties on BN? Not cool, man.

Thanks for the pics guys. So, I guess I had not considered that the floor would be elevated a meter off the ground. Interesting. What is the purpose for that?

You are seeing the roof truss laying on the ground.

Pretty impressive I'd say that they'll be done with two of the major components of the facilities plan before reaching the halfway mark of the 20-year plan. The IPF is obviously in a less prominent location but I'd guess at least some of that is due to other building projects going on in that area that weren't in the works yet when the plan was developed. The east side bleachers are long in need of being replaced with something safer and more coherent in terms of looks with the rest of the stadium, so hopefully that's up next.

I think Cruzado kindly left the easiest project for her successor. The east side will be underway within 5 years is my conservative prediction.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I believe it will be around that time frame as well, but I can also see MSU not being in a big hurry to replace the East side. After all, they don't currently gain much from improving the East side other than a better looking stadium, seats are seats. However, if they want to add sky boxes and fill in some of the gaps in the stadium at the same time, they can gain more revenue. I'm curious if they will just go the donated money route or look for a big stadium sponsor or go for the combination donation/loan financing like they did for the South end zone.

I’d love if you’re right, but that’s something I’ll believe it when I see it. I have no doubt it gets done eventually, but I think the price tag on it is likely to be as much or more than the BAC and IPF combined. I just think that’s a tall order to fundraise for so soon after the other two major projects.

But there is nothing I’d like to be wrong about more than that. It’d be amazing to have a completed east side in the next 6 years or so.

If they add sky boxes (they should) I wonder if they can/will sell the boxes ahead of time to fund construction. I assume construction would be completed in one offseason so it shouldn't be hard to sell the boxes before built.

Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!
