Wasn't it the last time the Bobcats beat an FBS team they came out the next week and laid a big egg. I don't think it will happen this year. Cats 55, Southern Momos 14.
Yup... in 2006 beat Colorado 19-10 and then lost to Chadron State 24-35... that 2006 team ended up making it to the 2nd round of the playoffs before losing to Appalachian State who won the FCS title that year.
And no I don't remember all of that, looked it up out of curiosity

2006 might have been the craziest year in Bobcat football history. Beating Colorado followed by three consecutive home losses to Chadron State, UC Davis (recently moved up from D-II at the time), and EWU in the conference opener. Then six wins in a row before losing Cat/Griz. Most thought at the time that they wouldn't get a playoff spot at 7-4 but they did, then absolutely destroyed Furman in the playoffs who wanted no part of being in Montana in the cold weather. MSU was hanging in there with App State too until an ill-advised trick play that became a turnover pretty much killed the momentum they had in that game.
This is one of the biggest weeks in college football. Week 1 to Week 2, well, for MSU it's Week 0 to Week 1, but whatever. Teams find out a ton of stuff that first game and this is the first chance to fix things. Last year MSU really ratcheted down its defense from Week 1 to Week 2 and played one of it best defensive games vs. SDSU. MSU might be really locked in this week.

If Cats win out aren't they almost guaranteed at least the 2 seed. We will have beat the gris and ether SDSU or NDSU would have an FCS loss because they play each other. Somebody tell me if I am missing something.
Yes, 100%. If the Cats win out they are likely the #1 seed but worst case scenario they're #2. Already have an FBS win and will have gone undefeated with a tougher schedule than SDSU or NDSU - and as you already stated, will have beaten the only other team with a chance at #1 or #2 in Montana.

Correct. NDSU and SDSU can't go undefeated because they play each other. Each one has an FBS game this week, so even if NDSU and SDSU both win their FBS game, MSU finally has that same notch on their belt, so a 12-0 MSU squad is a top 1-2 seed over a 11-1 SDSU or 11-1 NDSU team.
That's thinking a long ways ahead but we finally got that FBS win I've been hankering for. But Cats will need a lot of improvement to win out.

Not sure I agree based on committees history. If they beat Colorado and OK State and only loss to each other and Cats FBS win is New Mexico I don't think Cats jump them.

I don't think a 12-0 team gets a 3 seed below any 11-1 team, but you may be right.

I agree, especially when you look at the overall schedule for MSU versus either SDSU or NDSU. Yes they likely have tougher FBS matchups than us, but I believe the rest of our schedule is tougher than either of their's.

I agree with both of you it should happen.just no faith in committee after our seeding with only a loss to a top 20 Fbs team.
I think we will come out and establish the run and then break into the passing game. I expect the Defense to come in and establish themselves early, so I think we’re likely scoring 48, and holding Utech to 10.
