Conference Championship, three home playoff games and a trip to Choo Choo. I'd also like to see the National Championship game rescheduled to Saturday because December in that part of the country is downright miserable, especially in the evenings. But we probably wouldn't have a problem with the field because of our style of ball, even though they have new turf in Findley Stadium

Expectations:

Never give up on a play or a game.

No drug-related incidents.

Contend for a conference championship.

Anthing else is just icing!

I would like to see:

1) Sold out, loud, un-inviting conditions for in our stadium for our playing guests and open arms for our visiting fans

2) Keeping the foot on the gas for 60 minutes. NO LET DOWN GAMES.

3) Hammer the teams we should be and suprise the teams that we aren't supposed to beat.

4) Get into the top 10 if not the top 5 in national polls. I would like to see MSU get a preseason ranking in the top 10 annually. I am dead azz tired of the griz being a top 3, whether they deserve it or not.

5) Beat the griz. (duh!) In doing so, winning the BSC outright. Keeping them at home WATCHING the CATs.

6) Be competitive in the playoffs. Hopefully getting a home game.

7) Weather? I don't care what the temps are as long as I get to see some BOBCAT FOOTBALL

Thought I'd dredge this thread up to see how everyone really feels at the conclusion of this season as it compared to their expectations at the start of the season.

I'd have to say that all of my expecations were met.

1. I can't honestly think of one play where any player didn't go all out.
2. No player or coach had any off-field issues.
3. And, we were right there battling for a BSC championship at the very end.
4. There was a lot of icing, not the least of which was a home playoff victory and another playoff game in a great venue.

I see nothing but good things in the future for the program.

Not to put a downer on #2, but... we had the Derrik Davis incident, wasnt he a student assistant/manager/equipment person of some sort? And although they may not have been publically listed, LeBlanc and Henderson were both suspended for a game or two for undisclosed reasons. They could have skipped a class for all we know.

In the big picture of things, unbelievable successful season on and off the field. Lets see what happens with the classroom here in a couple weeks. Study hard guys, academics are more important tenfold, and thanks for a great season

I thought about bringing this thread forward again too, mainly to say that while I had a blast this season and thank all the players, coaches and fans for a tremendous year we blew my #1 goal the second week of the season. I still firmly believe that once we accomplish this we go to the next level.

While we didn't accomplish this goal, I will say that the Bobcat program has turned the corner in fan perception...at least mine and in talking and reading here I think in others. Not more than a couple seasons ago most fans went into almost every game hoping we could win the game. This season I, and as I said it appears many many others, went into every game knowing we should win the game. Get the above goal to happen next year and that will change again to going into every game knowing we will win the game.

Great post kmax. Everyone think of this one... had the Cats beaten Chadron and EWU (accept that UC Davis kicked our tails no matter what we may have done), this team wouldnt have been in Boone, NC last weekend and would have instead been hosting someone last weekend.

Yes - I am pleased with how we did and can't wait for next year! One of my expectations when I did this post was, be "in" every game till the end. UC Davis whupped us. I think I'll revise my EXPECTATIONS next time though... give me the winter to think about it. Two of my expectations will definitely be, don't get destroyed by anybody... and win the games we should.

I agree with the expectations but I have one a little higher:

1 Have a 10 win season so we host all playoff games

2. Beat the Griz

3. WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

I feel we all need to raise our expectaions to winning the National Championship.

Here is how I think that order needs to go.

1. To win a National Championship, you have to host playoff games.
2. To host playoff games, you have to win conference.
3. To win conference, you have to beat the Griz.
4. Dont lose at home.
5. Win the OOC games you are supposed to win.

Coincidentally, that is the order of my priority goals for the Cats every year.
