90' 8" field level is the starting point to the 149' 11" top of scoreboard roof equals 59' 3", plus 9' 6" tall audio cabinet equals a total height of 68' 9". Did I do that correctly? I don't read plans for a living.

I stepped off the distance from the BAC door (no pun intended) to the front door of the IAC yesterday. It's 185 steps (about 400 feet) with 80 in the concourse. No stairs, no street(s) to cross. I'd consider heated concrete between those three buildings, if it were my job. Maybe that's what they're doing. ???TomCat88 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 6:39 amI like this shot because it shows the proximity (industrial workflow) improvement of having the IAC on the stadium side of Kagy Blvd. Takes the hassle of crossing Kagy out of the picture (no pun intended) and shows the ability of using the westside grandstand concourse to move to and from the BAC. I never liked the tunnel or bridge proposal simply because walking in cleats up and down stairs can be cumbersome. Any time you can keep everything on one level it's a plus.
Yeah, very cool. I didn’t realize such a thing existed.
The only thing I might add is that there were also comments made that the facility would be open for other athletic programs and the public/community would have the opportunity to obtain time slots for use. Truly a multipurpose facility benefiting track&field and football but also a broader spectrum of the campus and community. Well done!AFCAT wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 8:17 am
Pretty much what Leon says in his speech. Costello, Lamberty, Cruzado, Vigen, Ortt, Wolff (women’s track athlete), and Weese spoke. Everyone kind of echoed the same themes of thanking the donors and talking about the importance of the facility and how big of a deal it will be for both programs and the university as a whole. How training on a larger 300 meter track is better than a 200 meter track. Sorry gris fans. The importance for distance runners being able to run inside during inclement weather events. Not having to set up and break down some of the track stuff (throwing areas, high jump, etc) before and after training and a bunch of other stuff.
Like I wrote previously, Lamberty mentioned that the indoor will be used for competition and training, so I’m guessing that means track meets wont be in the Brick any longer or not as often as they are now, which isn’t really that often, once or twice a year.
If you click on the 406 logo on the videos above, it will take you to YouTube and I see all of the speeches are posted there.
During graduation and reunion week, I attended a presentation on the facility expansions underway and planned. Just fyi on your comment on the Grant pedestrian walkway, the design of the walkway was shown…of course Grant will be closed to vehicles from the east end near the sub/Asbjornson Hall all the way to 11th….it has a nice esthetic design featuring the geography of Montana from east to west….the plains and grasslands represented on the east through rock features representing the mountains then on to the forest lands in the west. Kinda creative I thought.
I get what you’re saying but I’m wired to think that if you’re going to do something maximize the effect. I’d rather not need to use stairs to get across Kagy and the shorter and safer the trip from dressing room to practice site the better.
Fair point. I guess my personal opinion would be that doing anything to improve the safety hazard that is the east side grandstands when it's snowy/icy out would be a much better use of money than giving the football team an indoor tunnel for a 2-minute walk.
okay i see what you're saying. That makes sense.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 7:59 pmFair point. This was the rendering of the West Grant changes that was posted in this thread last November. Did you see anything different?BobcatDel wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 3:31 pmDuring graduation and reunion week, I attended a presentation on the facility expansions underway and planned. Just fyi, in case you wanted to know how much MSU is growing I captured the following numbers. Since President Cruzado came to MSU, the “footprint” of MSU facilities completed, under construction and planned has expanded the campus 31%!!! The completed and planned investment totals over $1.2B of which 90% has been privately funded!!! So proud of the university and its forward direction.
Looks like they constructed while looking at a mirror.AFCAT wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 8:42 pmThis was the rendering of the West Grant changes that was posted in this thread last November. I don't see the existing North and South Bubbles on that rendering. Wondering how permenant those will be? Still think it cool that MSU built an indoor practice bubble without hardly trying in addition to breaking ground on the state of the art facility!AFCAT wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 8:42 pmThis was the rendering of the West Grant changes that was posted in this thread last November. Apparently, if maintained well, they can last 15-20 years and higher end domes even longer.MSU Toddler wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 9:05 pmI don't see the existing North and South Bubbles on that rendering.
