Well said, I agree that as fans we all can be rediculous, childish, whatever when it comes to the rival, but that is part of the fun. A coach should not act this way and Baby Hauck doesn't understand how to behave any other way than child like.El_Gato wrote:Boz,
Speaking only for myself, the reason I dislike the man (although I use that term loosely) is that while I expect & relish us fans being childish (good-naturedly, I hope) about the rivalry, I expect more from a head coach.
I hope you've had the chance to see and/or hear Kramer talk about the Griz program. It's very flattering & I believe very genuine. I honestly feel the same way; I'd LOVE IT if our program was at the same level. Hauck treats it, however, like a spoiled rich kid. He acts like the success & tradition at UM is HIS and that no one else could ever possibly be as good as him or his program. On the rare occasion that Hauck praises anyone or any team besides the almighty Griz, it comes across as so phony, it makes me nauseous; it's as if he KNOWS that he should be complementary, but his heart's just not really in it.
It's a total lack of class and I'm amazed that he is that immature for a man his age & level of responsibility.

Very true cat Gal however, once the shopping around started, the Livingston alum made UM an offer they couldn't refuse...Cat Gal wrote:Pardon me bozgriz, but yes there was a problem at the GranTree, but two other hotels had vacancies and repeatedly asked your administration to stay with them but they said no. In fact, one hotel offered them a free breakfast.
Personally, I would prefer that Griz teams stay in Bozeman. Hell, I live here too...and in the future I am certain they will. It was just an unfortunate situation that hopefully won't repeat itself...

WOW. What, you've seen/heard a few minutes of his sound bites and/or TV clips, and been able to ascertain all of this.
It's amazing how short everyone’s memory is. Think back to Kramer’s first year at msu. Most hated him and wanted him ran out of town. And this of a guy who had past head coaching experience. It must be killing you that we didn't go 0 for 11 in Hauks first year.
My best guess is cat fans already have GRIZ coach envy. They see the quality of recruits and the continued success, and know they will always be playing second fiddle to the GRIZ.

And my best guess is Griz fans refuse to acknowledge that anything in their program whatsoever isn't perfect. Cat fans are usually critical of players/coaches, and we tend to hold them accountable for their actions. Griz fans, on the other hand, don't see any flaws in a whole lot. Sure I hear the occassional rant about a player here and there, but even then it's followed by a massacre of excuses.Eastcoastgriz wrote:el_gato wrote

I take opinions about the Cat program from outsiders to heart, as long as it isn't just immature babble. The best point of view is often times from an outsider. Face it, the Griz haven't really faced much criticism pre-Hauck era, but now that there is some descrepency about Hauck and his staff, and the program in general, Griz fans are getting really defensive and refusing to believe any of the slander.
One person talks, it's no big deal. A few people talk, it's probably just a rumor. Several people talk, and maybe their misinformed. But with as much people out there who are criticizing Hauck, maybe there really IS something to criticize? I mean, it's not just a few bitter Cat fans criticizing the man. I know many Griz fans who are less than thrilled about him being head coach. My Dad, a UM grad and a long-time Griz fan, said Hauck is a whiner and doesn't show near as much class as previous Griz coaches.

Jerseygriz,
You're a moron.
To address your points in order...
Based on all this DIRECT experience with the man plus what I hear from others, INCLUDING Griz fans, I have "ascertained" my feelings about what type of person BH is. It's funny to me that YOU probably don't have 10% of the DIRECT experience with BH that I do, and yet YOU are telling me that you know him better than I? LMFAO
Don't worry, jersey, all this will be proven over the next 5 or so years as Kramer's "stock" continues to rise and Hauck ends up joining the scrap heap of coaches who just couldn't quite cut it.
You're a moron.

I belong to a "fraternal" organization here in Kalispell and unfortunately my Griz brothers insist on subjecting all of us to listening to the Griz coach at least twice a year; I've listened to BH for at least 90 minutes total at that venue. I've also seen him & heard him speak at 3 different golf tournaments that I've attended. I met him and listened to him speak at a breakfast in Polson last year. I've read EVERY word he has been quoted as saying by Pravda; I mean the Missoulian. I've heard at least half of his post-game interviews.eastcoastgriz wrote:WOW. Talk about someone speaking out of his ass & not having a clue what he's talking about, it's you Jerseyjerk. I guarantee you that I know of not a SINGLE Bobcat fan who hated Kramer and/or wanted him run out of town his first season. MOST hated him? Nice generalization; that one qualifies as one of the Top Ten most-asinine comments I've read here, and THAT'S saying something!eastcoastgriz wrote:It's amazing how short everyone’s memory is. Speaking for myself here, I couldn't disagree more. I wouldn't want Hauck within 100 miles of my football program. I was glad when Glenn left because I knew he would keep Griz football near the top of both the Big Sky & 1AA football. I will be sad when the Griz fire BH in a season or 2 because I know if they let him stay longer than that, the Griz will fall from their once-lofty perch.eastcoastgriz wrote:My best guess is cat fans already have GRIZ coach envy. Help me out here, who has the best record in the BSC? Who is rated number 4 in the nation? Your right Hauck has driven our program into the ground.Speaking for myself here, I couldn't disagree more. Coach Hauck has already shown his great recruiting skills. I have no doubt the GRIZ will continue to remain one of the top 1AA teams for years to come!Don't worry, jersey, all this will be proven over the next 5 or so years as Kramer's "stock" continues to rise and Hauck ends up joining the scrap heap of coaches who just couldn't quite cut it.

Here's what I take to heart, jersey:
Overall, MSU athletic teams fare better in the Big Sky Conference than do those from UM. Please don't waste our time trying to argue this fact, because the mountain of data that can & will be dumped on you will only show you to be the pathetic jerk that you are.
MSU's student-athletes consistently outperform their UM counterparts in the classroom; last time I checked, THAT is the reason we have collegiate athletics. Please don't waste our time trying to argue this fact, because the mountain of data that can & will be dumped on you will only show you to be the pathetic jerk that you are.
Bully for you Griz fans that you have a great football program; it's a good thing because without that and a solid, although faltering, women's basketball program, your athletic department would be mired in the basement of the Big Sky. You should thank God every night that Don Read came to Missoula and built the Griz football tradition that still exists today; it remains to be seen whether Hauck has what it takes to keep that tradition alive. My personal opinion is that he can't & won't.
Bobcat student-athletes, on average, perform better in their field of competition and in the classroom than the Griz. Again, you Griz (football) fans should be grateful that you at least have ONE thing to cling to. Take away that single program, and athletics at the UM would be the laughingstock of the league.
THAT is what I take heart in.

Now on to this post. Why do some cat fans claim we have just football and nothing else? Let me help you out here. 1. Football - premier program in the BSC last 10 years. 2. Women’s Basketball - premier program in the BSC forever. Men’s Basketball - average, very similar to the bobcats. Are there any other sports that matter?? Maybe to a few.
Your absolute correct again. He has run our program into the ground.it remains to be seen whether Hauck has what it takes to keep that tradition alive. My personal opinion is that he can't & won't.
Peace out.

A frisking
Actually, that seems to be a fairly accurate description for a lot of Griz fans in general. When griz fans act this way, they like to call it Griz Envy, and say that you are a player hatin' chump who is just jealous.Eastcoastgriz wrote: Where does this garbage come from? Soiled little rich kid??? No one else could ever possibly be as good as him or his program???? He is that immature for a man his age & level of responsibility????
Hmm, I'm a booster and QBC member and I don't remember very much of that sentiment floating around. But then again I am on the cover-up committee for "First down Bobcats!", a diabolical organization that plans on ruling the world by convincing everyone that we yell "Bobcats!" after first downs; when in reality we intentionally copy UM fans by yelling "Montana!" So you never know, I could be smudging what people were feeling after that first year.Eastcoastgriz wrote:It's amazing how short everyone’s memory is. Think back to Kramer’s first year at msu. *yawn* Shocking analysis, doctor... I hadn't even read this part of your post when I mentioned "Griz Envy" earlier. How fitting that I see you use it as your last-ditch effort to make us feel inferior.Eastcoastgriz wrote:My best guess is cat fans already have GRIZ coach envy.
If by "second fiddle to the GRIZ" you mean beating the GRIZ and clinching automatic playoff berths, then I guess it's probably okay with most of us.Eastcoastgriz wrote:They see the quality of recruits and the continued success, and know they will always be playing second fiddle to the GRIZ.
And what is with all this stupid recruit BS I keep seeing from you guys? What, because Boobs called some kid on a cell phone in the game tunnel everyone he signs is a future All American? I don't blame a Griz fan for being too ignorant to notice that the 'Cats have signed their fair share of top IAA prospects the last few seasons. We're not going to be bad anytime soon, sorry friz.
In my opinion, Griz Envy is nothing more than Griz Delusion... For some reason Griz fans have had the impression that their team is somehow untouchable, or incapable of decline. When you have a mindset like that it's easy to see why one would resort to an exorbitant amount of chest pounding when another competitor shows up on the scene.
While the likes of EastCoastGriz may claim that we are delerious with denial, it is more just a case of us being exited about reality. At MSU the stadium may not be as big or ugly, but the football team is every bit as good as the one in Missoula. Far from being impossible, friz fans, scary isn't it?

Its just a game, folks
..........who me? Worry?
After Northern Arizona & Sacramento State Dump the Frizzlies on their derriers, your kittens will be primed for a great slaughter on Nov. 20.
After what your kitty's did to Northern Arizona this past weekend,. anything but a lopsided 60 point output against the frizzlies will truly be a dissapointment.........
What I want to see is Bobby Hauck (The Arrogant A$$h@ll, at midfield, aplogizing to everyone) and watching him be tossed out of Montana once and for all! He can go join his pal, Rick Neuheisel, in Vegas.......whorring with the rest of their kind.

OK, no more joking around.

I'm almost afraid to walk around Kalispell these days; I'm having nightmares about a guy with an MSU t-shirt, a griz jacket, and a CSU hat running through the streets with an AK-47, mowing down innocent civilians like Rambo, all the while muttering "s-s-s-STATE, f#@%ing s-s-s-STATE...).

eL Gato, look for me
in downtown Kalispell...........I'll be looking for you in your "clown" hat and your beer stained Daffy Duck tie.
eL Gato, I heard you were most likely to get a job in a salad bar and jerk-off into the mayonnaise, ending up being featured on the new TV Show 'Caught In The Act.'
