Safety/Nickel depth chart this year was as follows:

1st Team: Rylan Ortt (SS)/Dru Polidore (FS)/Caden Dowler or Level Price Jr.(NB)
2nd Team: Tyson Pottenger (SS)/Blake Stillwell (FS)/Miles Jackson (NB)

Bailey was in that 3rd team group which included guys like Brock Steel, Kade Cutler, and Colter Petre...all freshman. If Bailey couldn't beat out Pottenger on the depth chart, it meant the coaching staff lost some trust in him. However, if Jackson went down at NB when we were without both Dowler or Price Jr., I think Bailey was next man up for that spot.

No need to pile on the kid. I wouldn't be shocked if his scholarship was cut and he was told to find a new home. I think almost all of us would be in the same boat if that were the case.

It truly does look sad. Feel bad for the kid. I'm sure he wants to play, but evidently he was just buried under alot of more talented players.

No need to pile on the kid. I wouldn't be shocked if his scholarship was cut and he was told to find a new home. I think almost all of us would be in the same boat if that were the case.

I’m not piling on at all. It seems sad and desperate to me. His playing career may be done and he wants to continue. I’m sympathetic toward the young man as I’ve always been in favor of player movement. Even Kade Cutler leaving is fine with me; it’s his landing spot that make that transfer different. I wonder if there is a Frontier or DII school with a scholarship available for Kendric?

Yes, Robert Ford did it last year with the basketball team. But once a player enters the portal the school is not obligated to hold a spot open for them.

Rarley happens. Vigen would never do it. If he did everyone would enter the portal just to see what they would get offered and then when it didn't work out just come back to the old team. Ifanse asked to come back an of course was told no. Has to be that way.

Philosophies have probably changed, but I personally know of on instance where they put on the full court press to keep a portal entry.

Did it work? As in was it a full court press to prevent someone from entering the portal entirely?
Or was it someone that entered, that they wanted to change their mind?
