I like all of the submissions to this question so far, but I would add that I'm excited to see what our new defensive coordinator brings to the game. Anticipating a big improvement!

I'm in the same boat. When he's good, he's very good--I'd just like to see some sort of consistency...like we actually have an identity. I think Vim said it best...his play calling is schizophrenic!

I'd like a steady offense that doesn't go between these two extremes: "I'm not sure you can defend us" to "I'm not sure we can pick up a first down".
"There's two times of year for me: Football season, and waiting for football season."

You’d think, based on stats, that MSU is a well oiled machine on offense. Ypc and QB rating are top notch. It’d be interesting to take a deeper dive into those numbers. MSU’s biggest issue was not making plays at key times. That’s where the inconsistency bit them. Seems like there were a lot of drives with gouge plays and a lot of drives that were 3 and out just one first down. All that would probably be hidden if the kicking game had come through.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 10:23 amI'd like a steady offense that doesn't go between these two extremes: "I'm not sure you can defend us" to "I'm not sure we can pick up a first down".
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

In regards to the OC in ‘24, I am excited to see the verdict of his court case for the DUI and other charges. That will be the true decision on what happens to our offensive playcallingcat-o-nine wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 9:59 amI like all of the submissions to this question so far, but I would add that I'm excited to see what our new defensive coordinator brings to the game. Looking forward to Tommy being the sole QB1. Hopefully that will force Housewright to actually USE that stable of RBs.

One way or another we'll be forced to use our RBs.

There's room for improvement in the run and pass games. I know of at least one person that thinks Alexander is going to be a game-changer in the pass game next year. He, McCullouch and Dowler have a high ceiling. Anaya, King, Trimble too. I think the offense is going to look a lot different next year.

I thought this video was just odd. Is it MSU beginning to market Tommy to the NFL? I dont know, just odd that it was a team driven video.

RB’s got 25 carries a game. Tommy got around 10, and usually at least 2 of those would be scrambles.

I had the same thought. Maybe it's marketing him to the NFL, maybe it's just marketing him in general to people who make decisions about the big individual awards. Maybe it's just doing him a solid and it's an effort to show TM the university and program appreciates him.
I think in this player driven era of college football, a program has to show recruits that it will market you as much as possible, both to the NFL and to potential NIL opportunities. Not to mention, MSU has a brand on social media and has to continue to produce content. It's strange, but I don't think it's bad...I just think it's the way of the world now.

Re: What are you excited to see in 2024?
After seeing gris, after gris, after gris last week I was happy to see this. Maybe it's just to help the fan base take a deep breath and get excited for 2024 now. Sure, could be a bit of Tommy promo to multiple places but he's QB1 now, and that's exciting knowing we've got him one more year! Is it August yet??!!kennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 4:20 pmI had the same thought. It's not odd at all to me. Promote your players! Be excited about your team!nanacat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 4:24 pmAfter seeing gris, after gris, after gris last week I was happy to see this. I guess I must not be a deep thinker, because I thought it was awesome!
I'm not sure why highlighting one of the best players int the country is odd.

Good video. Could be the first of many that feature different players - at least I hope it is.
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."
