Show me the "beef"! This lie has become an urban legend. There were not "all sorts of bad things" said about the cats to the press.catmom wrote:The first year the Cats beat the Griz Bobby was so angry he said all sorts of bad things in the press about the Cats. I think that the powers that be at the UofM jumped him and told him to "grow up" (or so I was told). There were lots of Griz fans in Missoula that thought he was out of line in what he was saying. Since then, he has been better about showing us respect.

So that prove its, Hauck was in a portable urinal, doing his business and some how that got translated that his was pissing on the cats.catamaran wrote:They don't actually make hats, they make portable urinalsBR GRIZ wrote:I know the person who made the company! Heard the story

I would like to give you an example of the depth of Hauck's hatred of the Cats. This story was told to me first hand by a former assistant track coach at MSU, who was present when this happened.
Shortly after Hauck had been name Griz coach, and before spring practice of his first season, Bobby was drinking with buddies at a house in Missoula watching the NCAA basketbal Final Four games. Apparently, Bobby was pretty drunk when a small group of MSU track athletes and the assistant coach arrived at the house, following a track meet in Missoula. When Bobby saw that one of the MSU athletes wore a Bobcat hat, he grabbed the hat off the kid's head, took it outside and threw it off the deck, screaming that no f_cking Bobcat hats were allowed in the house. He then preceeded to urinate on the hat from the deck above.
While many of us might have done a similar stupid classless move while in college in a drunken stupor, this was a grown man, and recently appointed leader of our football program. He had not even coached a game yet.
This story is well known, and circulated in Missoula for weeks following the incident. Apparently Hogan was not too happy with Hauck about this immature expose.
All of this paranoia which Hauck has shown towards the Cats, like making the team stay in Livington, not ever saying their name publically, etc. is very immature, and counter-productive to getting his players ready for football. I believe it shows on game-day too.
This is one of several reasons why I am not a Bobby Hauck fan. I prefer coaches who demonstrate class, like Read and Glenn. Leave the drama to the cheerleaders.
I have never once even heard a variation of this story. Also the many people I have asked about this, many of whom are not at all fans of Hauck have never heard about it. Have any of you Bobcats actually heard this story? You guys know that I am pretty respectful of the Cats, but I have a very hard time believing this one.
I have not only heard the story, but I know who it happened to. I have heard some other funny stories about Beavis but I will keep these to myself so I don't embarrass who they happened to.

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.

I work as an attorney so that I can afford good scotch, which helps me to forget that I work as an attorney.

it should be no surprise to us Cat fans that many Grizzly fans do not like Hauck. I know many fellow Cat fans who do not like Kramer too. Too many 6-5 or 7-4 seasons with superior talent. Too many losses to conference doormats.
As long as there are college coaches, there will be fans who do not like their own coaches.
In Bobby Hauck's case, he is his own worst enemy. His actions and paranoia open him up to criticsm from his own fans. His coaching does not help either! LOL
