Vs. SAGU American Indian College
We've been away from play for 10 days! I wasn't just imagining it...
Here's a couple things I found interesting in a writeup about this upcoming game:
"After a wrist injury kept him sidelined for the first eight games, forward Jaden Geron is expected to make his return to action soon, potentially Saturday against SAGU AIC, to provide the Bobcats with bench depth at the wing position." So one of the mystery players is set to return soon!
Also this interesting paragraph about John Olmsted our newest center.
"Olmsted arrived in Bozeman this summer after earning his degree at Arizona State. Olmsted spent nine years growing up in Chile, where his father was a copper miner. The big man, who is bilingual and fluent in Spanish, moved to Morenci, Arizona, when he was in middle school. Olmsted grew up playing soccer and baseball in addition to basketball. "
Go Cats!!

I’ve never heard of this team. If the Bobcats don’t win by 30+ sound the alarm bells for this season.

Carroll beat them by 5 last night so yeah...this game outcome is very much in doubt.

MSU played them two years ago and won 124-73. I'd expect the margin to be a lot closer this time but MSU should win.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Bobcats up 56-43 at the half. Looked great at times and then had several turnovers so they need to clean it up if they want to get this win.

Good news is we played 10 different players in the half. These guys are still learning how to play with each other.
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

Re: Vs. SAGU American Indian College
MSU probably needed a game like this to end the losing streak and get some confidence back on offense. Nice to see Geron get in the game, MSU needs more depth than they've had once conference play starts.

Getting outscored in the paint continues to be an issue. Especially when we have the size advantage. A win today is good, but there’s plenty to work on going forward.

Re: Vs. SAGU American Indian College
Good to get a win against anybody. I was seriously concerned-especially when blew a big lead at the start. If Ford, Patterson, and Goracke are hitting their threes we have a chance. Brandon Walker is so smooth around the basket on offense...and so terrible on defense. Upcoming games against SUU and CSUN who are also major rebuilding projects. Then conference.

You must not have heard the alarm when the Cats lost to Green Bay and Rocky.

Green Bay is at least D1. Rocky was hopefully just the worst possible result.

Are you getting Walker and Olmstead mixed up.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 10:36 pmGood to get a win against anybody. I was seriously concerned-especially when blew a big lead at the start. I watched the Rocky game and Walker was awful on offense but did ok on defence. Olmstead was decent on O but lacked defence .

Re: Vs. SAGU American Indian College
No definitely don't have them mixed up. Walker had 27 or something against Cal. He's got a good spin move and finger roll with either hand. Unfortunately, teams that study film on him can stop it pretty easily, as Rocky did. Olmstead can only dunk on offense. I don't think he's made a shot that wasn't a dunk. Walker got dunked on by a SAGU player-ugh.wapiti wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 9:19 pmAre you getting Walker and Olmstead mixed up.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 10:36 pmGood to get a win against anybody.
