Can't say MSU is good
Why is it some of the fine fans at UM get all testy any time a MSU backer says the Bobcats will be good, have a shot at winning the BSC, going to playoffs, beating UM, etc.?
I simply posted on the main board that I thought MSU would win the league if we have a good offense and they came out of the woodwork. Can't MSU fans think their team will beat out UM? Is it so preposterous? We have a number of reasons to believe it will happen, but merely mentioning it (my gosh, I even added a caveat!!!) just sends some of them over the edge.
Last year's Griz scored six points against a defense that probably isn't as good as this year's defense. So I'm inclined to believe that despite Swogger, Chambers being at UM, that MSU is quite capable of holding them in check again. Maybe not 6, but 14 or 17, even 21 is a number any offense in the league can top.
Just because the media and coaches almost unanimously picked UM to win the league doesn't make it so and shouldn't give anyone reason to believe that it's impossible for MSU to win it.

I don't think EVERY Griz fan are the same, likewise w/ Cat fans (although you are cocky
).
Heck, the cats have proven they can play w/ the Griz 3 out of 4 years. I respect that. Although, I think you (Cats) will have a year like ours last year. Not a very productive offense, but a very sound "D" which will keep you in games, even win a few.
I'm pulling for a Griz/Cat showdown, both w/ unblemished conference records.

A so-so year and you 'hope'. Sheesh right back at ya. Thanks a lot. Like things are so desperate at MSU that you can only 'hope' we do well, since we're so-so. I'd say barring some kind of unknown catastrophy at either UM or MSU that a showdown in November is inevitable.Billings_Griz wrote:I see how you got your name.![]()

I said I THINK you'll have a so-so year, due to a lack of offense. I also said I HOPE you go undefeated in the conference (Griz, too) so it's a showdown in November.
Sheesh.
Take a sip of this. I hope that the patchwork, transfer laden Griz have a good year, so the Cat-Griz game means something. I'd hate to have MSU go to Missoula undefeated and have UM sitting at 3-4, 4-6 overall with nothing to play for except bragging rights, but that's probably what'll happen.
Too bad you guys didn't develop a QB over the past few years and are stuck bringing in a banged up transfer with just one year remaining. With everyone keying on Lex, it's going to be tough scoring points. And since you never shored up your d-line, teams will be running right through you. Then there's the poor coaching. So it'll probably be a long year for the fizzlies.
(The above two graphs are typical of what we hear from 'some' UM posters on an annual basis.) We've beat you 3 of the last four years because we've been better than you. At the very least you could drop the smug attitude and admit we're not that far behind you heading into this season. A so-so team would be out of the picture.

What can I say, I'm only defensive when someone is being offensive. I know you Griz fans just want your word to be the final say on who's good and who isn't, so it probably seems odd when someone disagrees with you.Grizlaw wrote:Wow...get defensive much?crazycat wrote:A so-so year and you 'hope'. Well, from where I'm sitting, it looks like you're the one who started this thread, and you're bending over pretty far backwards to find things to be offended by. But hey, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they really aren't out to get you, as they say.crazycat wrote:What can I say, I'm only defensive when someone is being offensive. You seem to have us confused with the cats.crazycat wrote:

The GRIZ, a quarter century of total football dominance over the cats.
