You knew the Vandals would have a hangover game after beating the Cats. It’s to bad it was against UNCU. If they played a PSU today they would have lost.

Chattanooga lost the game. Leading 7-3 they drove in the red zone late in the third qtr and then ran a reverse flea flicker that of course the wr threw into triple coverage and was intercepted. Then late in the fourth, up 14-10 with Furman driving the QB airmailed a throw and the safety dropped a sure INT. Mocs should woulda coulda that game away.

They were all bought by Robbie to pad attendance.

Sac runs all over the Griz with Bennet and Fulcher on first two drives….. then bring in passing qb and start chucking the ball and can’t move the ball. Did they steal our game plan for Idaho??

2 Sac players ejected in the first half. One for targeting, another for throwing his helmet down on the field.

The referees assessed personal fouls to both teams following an incident that occurred early in the game, and as per the rules, one more personal foul would result in ejection. This decision had a significant impact on the player who threw his helmet with only TWO seconds left in the half.

I guess this incident was the one where several gris players surrounded a Sac player, supposedly.. Was the one throwing the helmet involved in that? I would think the helmet incident was an ejection?

Sounds as if Sac totally lost their cool.

And question number 1: Why did Sac go away from the run???????

No. The Gris surrounded a Sac defensive player on their sideline when the defender pushed the Gris player out of bounds. Was a little late, but the Gris sideline reaction almost caused a huge fight between the two teams. It was close to getting out of hand. This is what resulted in both teams getting an unsportsmanlike for every player.

The Sac helmet thrower was a RB. Boneheaded move, but O don’t understand the complete rule. The clock was ticking down to end the half. Sac had the ball. The Sac guy takes off his helmet and slams it directly into the ground with about 2 seconds left while he and his offense were huddling. Looked like he was frustrated that they didn’t run another play. It didn’t appear directed at any Gris player, but maybe any helmet removal and throw is considered unsportsmanlike?

I was at the game. I didn't see lots of empty seats, especially after people finally got to their seats. As has been the case all season, and maybe prior seasons, there have been huge lines to get into the games. People are really complaining and have gone directly to Haslam. I couldn't see the east side where I sit. The Canyon Club on the east side was packed the whole game. Many CC people just stayed mostly in the Club. The stadium boxes were packed. While the temp wasn't freezing, it was fairly cold and at game time there was a cold 15 mph wind from the east/northeast.

The crowd was very loud for virtually the whole game. The noise disrupted SS.

The refs assessed unsportsmanlike conduct to all of both teams. The refs said right away that any future unsportsmanlike penalties would result in ejection. The refs didn't throw a flag until long after the ruckus was over, and the refs had been conferring for awhile.

I'm not sure anything was close to a huge fight. Some pushing and shoving and bodies next to each other (some trying to bet people a part), and lots of players involved. It was a punt return, so many SS players were near the play. They all came to the action. Others on the field and many on the opposite sideline came running over and joined. It took a while to separate everyone. I looked at the tape of the play. There were at least 20 SS players involved, and obviously a good chunk of the Griz bench. I didn't notice any punches. I think both teams were smarter than that.

Taking off helmet and throwing it down must be unsportsmanlike. I agree with what you said about the likely cause. UM fans thought there was some karma, as the player was the one who caught the ball out of bounds at the end of the game last year (but the refs called the catch good). It looked to me that he almost kicked his helmet after he threw it to the ground, but held back.

You should change your name to Grisapologist. Nothing close to a huge fight? I am sure that is why the refs called unsportsmanlike on both teams.

Some think the refs shouldn't have called the penalty they did. They didn't throw a flag until long after the ruckus was over. I think the flag was thrown eventually because of the number of players involved and how long it went on. I'm not aware that it's an unsportsmanlike penalty to almost get into a fight. Nothing I said is apologizing for the Griz. I was there, sitting right above it. I watch a lot of football. I played college football. I don't care that the refs called a penalty, but they didn't call it for the reason you are saying.
