Bobcats - 45
Barneys - 10
We take our foot off the gas on both side of the ball in the second half and the backups let a couple plays slip by them. Otherwise just another day at the office for the Cats. Last week was Pickering, this week will be Snell.

Are they the Barneys because their coach's last name is Barnum?coloradocat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 9:10 amBobcats - 45

Re: Cats vs. Portland State Predictions
Yeah, wanted to use a unique name instead of the Vikings and Barneys sounds good next to Bobcats. I also considered MSU vs PHS after their use of a high school stadium. Score predictions are one of the more pointless things we do here so gotta mix it up a little.rfischer94 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 11:44 amAre they the Barneys because their coach's last name is Barnum?coloradocat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 9:10 amBobcats - 45

Lol, yes he is. Every time I watch him talk I feel like he's just one of us. He was just a fan one day, sitting in a bar drinking beers and chewing copenhagen after his shift as a construction worker... bitching about the PSU football team. Then the AD walks by and hands him a whistle and says, fine - you do it then, you're the coach now.
Also, he must really like that clothing design, is it SIMMS, or Columbia perhaps? Maybe they're paying him.

Great time to be a BOBCAT!

What is Barney talking about, Jared Allen throwing his shoulder pads into the stands? I'm not aware of that one.

I think it's a little closer than we want, their QB is a threat and they have some really good backs. Think we score at will on them. 52-24. Maybe a 7-10 point game at half.

Re: Cats vs. Portland State Predictions
I'll be honest - when I first saw the conference schedule, I really looked at all our home games as gimmes. No one coming into Bozeman that was really gonna give us any trouble. Fast forward to right now, and I definitely have changed my outlook a little. Considering how some of our conference foes have performed early on this season, I am keeping my fingers crossed that none of these are that notorious "trap" game.
Sometimes when you're rolling, and throw in the fact that we have the longest home win streak in the nation, it can get easy for 18-20 years olds to read into the hype and get complacent. I honestly don't see it with this team or this coaching staff, but the truth of the matter is that it happens. PSU, NAU, and EWU are all riding a little high and would love to roll into Bobcat Stadium and hang a loss on us. On paper, we're better than everyone else. On the field, we're better than everyone else. But that's why you still play the game.
"On any given Saturday..." happens a lot in college football. IMHO, if we keep our focus and intensity, no one will beat us. I still feel this game is a win for us, but I think we could get into a chippy scrap with one or more of these teams.

I never stop smiling when I see this post… oh so true.. Thinking we should start a Go Fund Me to keep Bobby in charge down there. Maybe sell “Bobcats for Bobby” T shirts to raise money.

I wonder what the final score will be?
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Barnum reminds me of an amalgamation of all four of these guys. He's the anti-Hauck and we should all be thankful PSU has kept him around for so long.

Re: Cats vs. Portland State Predictions
That's Columbia. Out of Oregon, and I think somewhat attached to Nike. So yeah they're probably throwing him some cash or at least free gear! I've always thought Columbia was good "fat white guy" apparel, which is probably why I like it, and possibly Barney.catatac wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 12:42 pmLol, yes he is.
