Re: Lonyatta Alexander Jr.
The NCAA person that oversees and handles all this for the State of Montana is a huge Griz donor and being paid under the table. Just kidding, but this absolutely sucks.
Punters are people too!!

Probably a dumb answer/thought but if you can transfer without penalty to better change life / health, would a doctor note say for mental health be a health or even possibly change of life? Maybe Vidlak had a legitimate reason to transfer or was coached on what boxes to check and phrases to say.

I believe the WR from UNC transferred to be closer to his sick mom and they still denied him.SparkCat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 5:33 pmBgCATfan wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 4:33 pmI was wondering that as wellHelenaCat95 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 12:30 pmWhat's the difference between these players?

The problem with the NCAA is they have no consistency and they answer to nobody. At least put something out explaining the why. They’re such a joke.

Re: Lonyatta Alexander Jr.
I don't think the initial transfer is the question with Ifanse, but the second transfer from SJSU to Cal after he had enrolled in classes and participated in Spring Practice at San Jose.

Sucks for this year. But assuming he stays in the program he'll be a hell of a player here for us after he sits out a year. Wonder if needs will change and he'll get moved back outside?

Yep. If I were Lonyatta, I'd find a really good lawyer and file a lawsuit against the NCAA right now.
They're costing him NIL money.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Vigen said Jr. was "thriving" both on the field and academically. He referenced where Jr. had come from and and touched on the fact there was some bad juju. So hopefully he'll stay and continue to thrive.GoldstoneCat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 5:07 amSucks for this year. That sounds like that is something that should’ve made the waiver approvable.nanacat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 5:59 pmVigen said Jr. was "thriving" both on the field and academically. The kid is hurting, but he is commited and focused to give Bobcats fans what they want.
I agree with it beening done A WHILE ago. But they(NCAA) yoyo'd the kid for truely for 9 months. Asking for more and more info. Only to tell him Monday that he'd been denied.
But he stated that it was a 50-50 shot that they'd let him play. Short story, he was torn, hurt and now he's looking forward to the scheduled workouts for him back home every other wknd to stay sharp and ready. So I guess stay tuned. He will not disappoint

I'll repeat myself, and yes I'm mainly venting because I'm tired of all the crap the NCAA pulls because of all the power they have... maybe they need to get another lawsuit filed against them. I guarantee an excellent attorney would find instances where players were allowed the waiver in the same circumstance. So inconsistency there is not legal, and they need to be held accountable.BobDals wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 10:40 amThe kid is hurting, but he is commited and focused to give Bobcats fans what they want.

Unfortunately, a law suit will not benefit Lonyatta, but maybe benefit future kids. It just takes too long.catatac wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 10:56 amI'll repeat myself, and yes I'm mainly venting because I'm tired of all the crap the NCAA pulls because of all the power they have... maybe they need to get another lawsuit filed against them. I would bet though that a formal inquiry to the NCAA from one of our US Senators or Congressman would get them to re-evaluate.

I believe she is referring to his former football programs in AZ and WA, not Jr. himself or his personal life.BobDals wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 1:00 pmI was unaware of him having bad juju.nanacat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 5:59 pmVigen said Jr. was "thriving" both on the field and academically. He doesn't. Coach indicated he had been through some negative experiences at his other schools. I was too lazy to type that the first time so choose 'bad juju'. Sorry for the confusion.BobDals wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 1:00 pmI was unaware of him having bad juju.nanacat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 5:59 pmVigen said Jr. was "thriving" both on the field and academically. Mr. @TomCat88, could you and @Colter_Nuanez put your collective skills together and produce a nice piece of investigative journalism as to why Vidlak plays and Alexander Jr. sits? There must be an interesting story hidden from view there. Thank you, gentlemen.
