Spring ball thread

I've seen a few tweets and pictures from Spring ball, and the mic'd up with Housewright, but that's about it. I'm not seeing much in the way of camp reports here on BN, does anyone know if there are reports, position battle writeups, interviews, etc... anywhere else?

There was a press brief today but I haven’t seen any video yet.

Do teams in the South that have to practice in high heat and humidity have indoor facilities. I am sure Alabama and Georgia do, but at FCS level.

That's a good question. In Texas, I don't think any FCS school has an indoor, but it seems nearly every high school does, which is being footed by the taxpayers. Some of the high school indoors rival FBS programs.

Kinda of a dumb question, but typically what do spring practices consist of? Are they closed? Is there much competition for positions or is it more team building and getting in the flow? I know it differs from team to team and coach to coach, I just have not heard much of how players are performing.
I’m excited for Tommy to actually have some time to further develop his passing, now that this spring his not recovering from ankle surgery!

Good question for an expert like VIM but yes I would say all of the above, and I’m 100% sure there is great competition. Players trying to earn starting spots, younger players trying to get noticed and earn a spot on the two deep heading into Fall, and some players probably fighting to stay on the roster.

Maybe, not so much a hot take, but I have some gut feeling, Elijah Elliot is going to rip teams a new one this year. Following him in social media, and he is training with a chip on his shoulder.

Good call, I agree. Lots of hand-wringing has gone on here about Ifanse leaving but I think we'll forget about him very quickly once the season starts and we see Elliot & co. take the field.

Pretty sure they have a good idea going into it on who their 2 deep players are but there are opportunities for younger guys to try and climb the ladder in drills, 7 on 7, scrimmages. Other than practice days, they’re lifting, watching film, and learning or working on the new plays being put in.

Not sure we will forget about him. But we will be in good hands. We were last year and if we keep that scheme, the remaining RB room seems to fit it better.

Not gonna lie, I'm really surprised he's still here. I thought the D was much better, specifically on the back end with Daly calling plays too.
