Hauck was trying to bring him on to the Griz as a walk on, just like the Cats are doing. Crews is an athlete. You could put this kid anywhere on the field and he would be a freakin stud. I don’t care what the other side says, kid made a mistake, he admitted it and paid for it, and now is getting a second chance. Exactly what a ton of kids in college sports do. Can’t wait to see him get his chance to play. Congrats Zac!!

Very athletic. Fast, strong. Good hurdler and would’ve placed but had an issue in the finals. Third in javelin, sixth in shot, sixth in TJ. Quite a range of events.

I’d like to see him at safety. Probably never happen. Old school Kenny Easley, Joey Browner type. He’d scare a lot of receivers on crossing routes: something MSU was burned on a lot last year.

He won the 110 hurdles and javelin as a junior 14.95, 176-08. Took third in state wrestling.

Except that Hauck continually misled the Crews family. He told them them that UM would bring Crews on and then backed out of that promise. Maybe if Hauck had been honest with the family, they could have made educated decisions about what to say in public (like with Butte Sports) and got ahead of any Kaimin article. Hauck’s handling of the situation was extremely poor and has even affected the Griz’s recruiting position with future Sentinel prospects.
