Honestly, I assume the Cats will be in the Top 25 in week one. I would actually prefer that they not be (the lower they are ranked, the better they tend to play), but I have a feeling they will.
I assume that was the question -- it's sometimes hard to tell.
I'm very proud of you -- sticking with the handle and all. Walkin' tall....

One thing I do know, the Griz pals I have here in Billings are not concerned with the Bobcats. This attitude has prevailed for so many years that it is hard for them to think otherwise. However, I am confident that they are about to endure loss #3 and it will be sooooo sweet as it will happen in their own stadium. My reservations are made.

I would guess 1) UM 2or3) NAU 2or3) MSU... UM will virtually always get ranked #1 on reputation alone, the rest will probably mirror last year's standings pretty closely as preseason polls tend to do. And yeah, we're real afraid of who Tony Moss is going to pick to win the Big Sky. Hopefully it isn't MSU, because he really sucks at picking our games during the season and I wouldn't want the team to be jinxed by him before the season even starts.

Here's what informed people ought to have for their order: 1) EWU 2) UM 3) MSU 4) NAU
However the media will have it: 1)UM 2)NAU 3) MSU 4or 5)EWU
I can't believe that no one has mentioned Eastern Washington in their discussion of Big Sky placings. They have the most returning starters, I believe. They sure played us tough last year. That offense is the toughest in the conference. If they solidify the defense at all...look out for the Eagles. Let's remember, they give the GRIZ fits and have them at home this year. UM has the tradition, but there are sure more "doubters" now that Bobby H. is in charge--the rest of that mystique could blow away with the next strong wind(and they have lost a lot of it now). To pick us higher than 3rd in preseason is unrealistic since we lost so much, but I know if we get a few key spots filled--then the Cats could be wearing 3-peat shirts a year from now!

SAC is my dark-horse. Leadingham will be returning and there is a lot of buzz and energy coming out of the President's and AD's office. One of these years, SAC's missmash of talent will gell. Still, it all depends on where they play in November as to whether they compete for the BSC championship, or not.
I predict NAU and ISU will fall hard.
My picks for coaches pre-poll: EWU - SAC - UM - NAU - MSU - ISU - PSU
for media pre-poll: UM - NAU - EWU - MSU - SAC - ISU - PSU

bleedingbg. Not only does Sac get Ledingham back, but they get Tyronne Gross and Fred Amey back. After talking to one of their coaches about their recruiting class, I would say Sac is definately a team to look out for in the next couple years.
If we are now talking about pre-season Big Sky rankings, I would put NAU, Sac, and the Griz at the top, probably in that order. I don't know enough about the Cats to comment on how good they will be. Given their late season performance of the last couple of years I think they will be in the mix. Don't get me wrong, on the rest of the teams in the Big Sky. I think it is going to be a very tight league. No one really stands out, and I think it is a toss up for who will come out on top.

Catdad39, you are correct in that EWU should be at or near the top of the BSC. EWU lost but four starters and will be in the second year of a revamped defense. QB Meyer will be even better this year and we have our RB back after a season ending injury in the second game last year.
We have a favorable schedule at home; ISU, NAU, UM, Sac St. Our toughest game will be our 11/13 game in Bozeman which I believe will have playoff implications...

Nice new message board. I hope EWU can get a message board like this in the future. I agree with my fellow EWU fan Obzerver and think that the Eagles will be tough next year. They return almost the entire offense and the defense will be vastly improved after a year under their belt in a new defensive scheme. I think that the Eagles will challenge for the BSC Championship with a few other teams. I think that the Griz and the Bobcats will be real challengers. I am not totally sure of Sac State being that much of a contender. They will be good though. My darkhorse however, besides Eastern is Weber State. I think that they will be pretty tough. Go Eagles!!!

One who looks beyond the Cats and Griz and considers all 8 teams. I have seen every game in person the last three years, with one exception...I did not go to Cal Poly last September. That might qualify.VictorG wrote:What makes a person "informed"? I'm just curious.Catdad39 wrote:Here's what informed people ought to have for their order: 1) EWU 2) UM 3) MSU 4) NAU
