Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
Troy will be a better backer in the long run. He's an every-down guy that can cover. Runs with slot receivers and Tight Ends all day!!catsrback76 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 10:28 pmRegarding Singleton, he is better now and was better then (MSU) as a LB. His instincts are razor quick, his run support is superior, but his pass coverage is not so good. That said, IF Troy sticks with it and can keep making his strides, his speed and size will get him close to Alex. What Troy does have is his athleticism and the ability to be used as a weapon on Offense. Nobody would even think about using Alex that way. So, all in all Troy is probably a better all rounder, Alex a better LB. In fact he hasn't learned how to play NFL linebacker yet. I hope he gets as good as Singleton, but Singleton was a a linebacker from day 1 BC! Just fyi.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 11:24 amThey have 4 guys with 250+ rushing yards. I'm not sure they need him at RB. What they need is better pass pro and a QB.

Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
Does anyone know if he started due to injury? I thought Mykal Walker started ahead of Andersen but I see he played so I’m wondering if Andersen beat him out or if he backs up someone else?

I get my information from twitter comments, but I gather that Troy moved ahead of Walker on the depth chart, at least for this game. Also, sounds like Troy's play was somewhat up and down and maybe got picked on a bit.

Sort of think they are writing off this year and looking to the future. Expect more time for some of the young guns looking to build for next year or be traded.wbtfg wrote: ↑Mon Dec 19, 2022 9:59 amI get my information from twitter comments, but I gather that Troy moved ahead of Walker on the depth chart, at least for this game. I wasn't thrilled that he went to Atlanta, but it looks like they're bringing him along perfectly. He's going to be really good.cats_thirdeye wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 11:13 amhttps://www.si.com/nfl/falcons/news/atl ... frank-bush

Agreed, would have loved him with a number of other NFL teams. But seems like he went to the perfect place for his development.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 4:18 pmI wasn't thrilled that he went to Atlanta, but it looks like they're bringing him along perfectly. My apologies if you've read this already. Nice podcast in there you'd be interested in also. I enjoy the part where he's almost apologetic for being the valedictorian of a class of 88...

Troy finished his rookie year with a ton of positive momentum. One big thing? He was injury free by year's end!
Also extremely cool to see him get kuddos from All-Pro DT like Grady Jarrett. 100% an "I've made it" moment.

Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
Candidly Pro Football Focus grades for Troy this year, were not very good at all, but subjectively he seemed to play better than his grades, and the fact that he moved into the starting lineup means coaches were clearly pleased with his performance overall.
He struggled most in pass coverage, which, given his athleticism, should be a strength of his as he learns to recognize more quickly.
