Talon is 6'2" and is already pretty rocked up in that 235 lb. frame which is likely why we get to have him in-state at the FCS level. Tom - how much do you think Talon can grow into or add on to his frame? Can he be a Chase Benson/Blake Schmidt (run stuffer who takes on blocks, pushes the pocket, and is excellent against the run) or a Sebastian Valdez (all-around great interior player who can do it all)?TomCat88 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 10:41 amTalon Marsh, Capital

Re: Montana Recruits 2023
He played on the interior all year for capital, and was a manchild out there. He was stronger and quicker than everyone he went against and would completely take over games as a DT. I believe he's also a state champion wrestler. It will be interesting to see how he grows and develops in Bozeman.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 11:01 amYou don’t think he’ll play on the edge?VimSince03 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 10:51 amTalon is 6'2" and is already pretty rocked up in that 235 lb. frame which is likely why we get to have him in-state at the FCS level. He’s might be closer to 6’, but he’s probably the most disruptive unblockable player I’ve seen. Teams threw everything at him, and he continued to make plays. I think he is similar to Eiden (slower, but more twitch and stronger) but it all depends on how much weight he can carry. If he can get to 260+ and still be quick and effective, he could play inside. Just a great football player that you get on campus and see how he develops.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 10:51 amTalon is 6'2" and is already pretty rocked up in that 235 lb. frame which is likely why we get to have him in-state at the FCS level. I view him has a tucker yates type of player, but with quicker twitch. He definitely needs to put on some weight. If he does, I think he could be a really good player for us in a few years.Helcat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 1:48 pmHe’s might be closer to 6’, but he’s probably the most disruptive unblockable player I’ve seen. As we all know the FCS is chock full of great players who don’t have the dimensions that P5 leagues are looking for.
There’s a definite “wow factor” to him. Seems destined to find a position and blossom.

That has nothing to do with Montana recruits. Plus it's been on three other threads already...including the primary recruiting thread. We have had high profile recruits decommit roughly every year for the past decade. It sucks but it's part of the recruiting cycle.Bobcat1boz wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 8:52 pmthree star RB/LB recruit from Texas Luke Anderson decommited from MSU.

Boom or bust? I’m not sure you understand how recruiting works Peyton. Just because MSU offers more than UM doesn’t make it boom or bust, or pray n spray, or whatever you all say over on your site.Go Scats Go wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 9:01 pmIt's the Boom or Bust approach the cats use.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 9:08 pmThat has nothing to do with Montana recruits. Yeah, I saw that last week. He seems like an awesome kid with an amazing work ethic and is obviously from a football family. It will be interesting to see if he ends up on offense or defense. I'm sure, wherever he chooses, he'll have an opportunity to be a special teams contributor right away.kiddc87 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 2:01 pmhttps://www.ktvh.com/news/capitals-tom- ... o-big-starwbtfg wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 2:36 pmMaybe, maybe not. Would love to see him in Bozeman, as I think someone with his skillset can be really dynamic in this offense.

Re: Montana Recruits 2023
Reading between the lines here but Tom had a great senior season and its lead to an increase in recruiting interest. Due to the legacy factor, I think if he had what he wanted from MSU in terms of a scholarship, he would've committed already. But I have a feeling MSU has stood pat on their offer and UM has actually offered more. Now the holding pattern likely has to due with out-of-state interest from a FBS school in the form of a potential PWO offer coming his way. I wouldn't be surprised if Tom waits on committing in-state and takes visits in January whether that be officials to MSU, UM, or a FBS school.wbtfg wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 2:09 pmYeah, I saw that last week.
