The story I have heard is similar to what Bozone reported. Although, in all fairness, I don't have any link that shows that he actually said that. I know some Griz poster (Bronco, maybe?) rightfully asked if anyone had documentation of that quote, and I have yet to see it.

To settle this issue once and for all, does anyone has any source documentation that explains exactly what Hauck did say relating to the infamous "State" quote?

I don't have any documentation right on hand, but it is out there. I can't imagine people getting worked up about just being called "State," it had everything to do with why he called us that. This is no exaggeration, folks. Does it surprise anyone that the man who fired a PRIEST would have the audacity to say something like that?!?! This is the #1 reason for my unabashed disgust of the man, although there are numerous backup reasons to add to it.

If I get some time (yeah, right), I could try to find a link. It would be in the newspapers sometime leading up to last year's Cat-griz game, but that is about as specific as I could get offhand.

It happened, everyone. Hauck is a turd.

I spoke with a GAA member last year after CAT/griz and he was at a booster meeting the week before the Brawl and he told me that during his speech, Hauck launched into a rant about all the Griz fans buying all of their food, booze, etc. in Missoula before the game & to spend as little money in Bozeman as possible.

I verified this story with a friend of mine who is a big GAA member in Stevi & was at the same meeting.

As I've stated numerous times here, I LOVE the fact that Hauck hates us so much. His lack of class regarding MSU makes it even sweeter to stuff it up his arse, which we will hopefully do every season he's at UM. The BEST comments I've heard about BH from Griz fans I know are mediocre at best. Most don't care for him personally but obviously like the fact that they're winning, as usual.

I hope they keep him forever.

Wow - according to the posts, maybe he did say that. Throughout history the Bobcats haven't earned the respect to have the word Montana in our name because the word Montana belongs to the Grizzlies? Does he foget that we have 3 national titles? Does he forget that the Grizzlies used to suck as a football team? J H C - what a joke. And whitemeat - regarding your post, I saw a great add the otherday. Big billboard of Monica saying "Vote Republican - the Democrats left a bad taste in my mouth!"

First of all El_Gato didn't prove anything..(I know a guy) second he only said the guys said BH went on a rant. Nobody confirmed from what I read in El_Generalization's quote, what everybody has said he said, still nobody has heard first hand? Anyway I agree with Eldaddy I like it that BH doesn't like the cats.

I'm mainly writing this response because I like to keep this thread current so we can all marvel at the psychological kaleidoscope that we know as neverplayed.

But jag, I find it interesting that you are calling fellow Griz-lovers LIARS. I'm sorry I wasn't there last year to hear first-hand Bobby Beak's classless remarks, but when TWO different GAA members tell me the same story, I guess I'm just a dumb Cat but I believe them.

The moral to this whole story is that most of us dislike the 'other' team; that being said, however, I'd much rather have a head coach who at least handles the rivalry with a little class than one who behaves like a spoiled brat. I'll keep saying it because it is the best description I've come up with to date: Hauck is a turd.

Of course BH told everyone to not spend any money in Bozeman. Why do you suppose that the Griz FB team stayed in Livingston? Was it because all the hotels were full? I think not because three hotels were after his business as soon as he was named head coach.

Oh don't go there on the hotel thing. I know first hand what happened there. It has nothing to do with Hauck and his crew, that decision was made prior to his hiring due to an unfortunate event at the Grantree during basketball season. Without going into details, certain cat fans who worked there used poor judgment and the result was the Griz officials deciding not to stay there again...

Turns out the fine folks in Livingston includes a booster who owns a large hotel with a restaurant who welcomed the Griz and their fans with open arms...

Sorry there Gato Grande, I was there and saw all the embarassing action first hand...

It's one thing to dislike a rival for a valid reason or simply because he/she is on the "wrong" side of the rivalry. It's something totally different to mouth off about stuff you know nothing about...

Baby has given us plenty of reasons to bash him in his two years at the helm of the good ship hippy. All you have to do is listen to the TV, read any number of papers from across the state, or listen to pre/post game comments on the radio and you will gain enough insight into his personality and lack of even a thread of respect for the Bobcat program.

Boz,

Speaking only for myself, the reason I dislike the man (although I use that term loosely) is that while I expect & relish us fans being childish (good-naturedly, I hope) about the rivalry, I expect more from a head coach.

I hope you've had the chance to see and/or hear Kramer talk about the Griz program. It's very flattering & I believe very genuine. I honestly feel the same way; I'd LOVE IT if our program was at the same level. Hauck treats it, however, like a spoiled rich kid. He acts like the success & tradition at UM is HIS and that no one else could ever possibly be as good as him or his program. On the rare occasion that Hauck praises anyone or any team besides the almighty Griz, it comes across as so phony, it makes me nauseous; it's as if he KNOWS that he should be complementary, but his heart's just not really in it.

It's a total lack of class and I'm amazed that he is that immature for a man his age & level of responsibility.
