Nope. Usually just means my estimate of where their talent level is doesn't jive with the respective coaching staffs in-state. Zach was my 2nd highest rated offensive lineman but kids like Everett Carr, Austin Buehler, and Jonathan Lohman all received offers before him thus far. If I was guessing, Zach hurt his stock this summer by focusing more on baseball with Butte (where they played into August). Kade I have no idea...I think he's great. Josiah is a kid that likely would have more offers if it was 2000 instead of 2022 as the big bruises don't get as much interest as they used to but a kid like Hunter Sharbano is a comparable athlete and he got the offer from MSU while Josiah didn't and both attended MSU camps this summer. Same situation with JJ Dolan and Kade Boyd so sometimes its just a numbers thing at that position and who performs better at summer camps.coloradocat wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 11:17 amAny ideas on why the bottom 3 don't have any offers yet?VimSince03 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 11:07 amBobcats have offers out to the following uncommitted prospects on my board (partial or PWO):blueandgoldblitz wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 10:19 amAny chance anyone with their finger on the pulse of Montana recruits can tell us who the biggest recruit left in Montana is? or maybe top 5 left that the coaching staff may be focusing on?
13.) Patrick Duchien (Florence) - 6'2", 200 lbs. - QB/ATH
14.) Hunter Sharbono (Fairview) - 6'2", 230 lbs. - TE/FB/LB/DL
JJ Dolan (Missoula Sentinel) - 6'0", 170 lbs. - CB
Jonathan Luhmman (Florence) - 6'4", 275 lbs. - OL
Luke Smith (Bozeman High) - 6'4", 205 lbs. - TE/DE/LB
Tom Carter (Helena Capital) - 6'1", 170 lbs. - WR/S
Luke and Tom have played their way into higher consideration meaning a bidding war will likely happen for them between UM/MSU. Their offers will likely have to increase as both are on track to be 1st-Team All-Staters and pushing their teams into #1 East/West rankings, respectively. Patrick doesn't have the weapons he had last year but I still think he has an argument as the bet QB recruit in this class. Hunter has had a stellar senior season for Fairview, catching passes, getting carries, and making big hits from his MLB spot. Jonathan played his way into a PWO from MSU as the big fella improved his foot quickness from his junior season.
Prior to the season, the following 3 players made my Top 15 and have yet to receive FCS offers:
6.) Zach Tierney (Butte) - 6'4", 260 lbs. - OL
9.) Kade Boyd (Billings Central) - 6'0", 180 lbs. - RB/S
15.) Josiah Triplett (CMR) - 6'1", 225 lbs. - FB/DL
By all accounts Zach has had a great senior season moving over to the LT spot and playing DT for the Bulldogs. Kade has also been great for BC and had a recent visit to an EWU game. Still think he is being severely under-recruited. Josiah (JJ) Triplett holds offers from NAIA schools but nothing has formalized into an offer with his FCS interest from schools like NDSU and UM.

Re: Montana Recruits 2023
I see Tierney is followed by a lot of coaches, including Vigen. Could Tierney have an offer we don’t know about or do you think he just hasn’t been offered? I’ve noticed that Vigen doesn’t follow every player that gets offered but he does follow Tierney. Maybe, that’s just because Tierney is a Montana kid, I don’t know. Seems bizarre that the young man wouldn’t at least get a PWO.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 11:43 amNope. I do know that some kids don't post PWO offers. I've tracked every kid Vigen follows on twitter and nearly all of them have or get some type of offer from MSU. So yeah who knows.AFCAT wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 12:27 pmI see Tierney is followed by a lot of coaches, including Vigen. Will be interesting to see who else commits as teams get knocked out of the high school playoffs and who waits until December.

He’s a 2024 recruit, but Quinn Clark from Gallatin looks nice. He’s got great size and it seems like pretty decent speed.

The kid can play when wants, he's has all the tangibles, but he plays 3/4 speed when the ball isn't going his way.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 10:19 amHe’s a 2024 recruit, but Quinn Clark from Gallatin looks nice. He’s got great size and it seems like pretty decent speed.

Re: Montana Recruits 2023
I noted a week ago Tom Carter (Helena Capital) and Luke Smith (Bozeman) moved themselves into scholarship offer territory with how they've performed this fall. Since then, MSU upped Luke's PWO offer to a scholarship offer and the Griz offered a scholarship this past weekend. Griz also offered Tom a scholarship this weekend as both him and Luke were at the Cal Poly game. MSU will likely match/offer more for Tom (already had a PWO offer out to him I believe)...but you never know.
Tom is being viewed as an offensive weapon as he can play both RB or WR but he was on the radar after his junior season more for his ability as a safety. Luke is being recruited for his abilities as a TE and/or DE. He's also a kid who could drop into coverage as a LB. Great versatility with both of these kids.

Almost inexcusable if he isn’t, with the family history and his size/speed.

Maybe, maybe not. There are so many variables involved in recruiting, nothing is a sure thing one way or the other.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 2:29 pmAlmost inexcusable if he isn’t, with the family history and his size/speed.

“One was the career sack mark at Helena Capital, which he now owns with 37. The other was the single-season sack record which now stands at 18 and counting after Marsh snapped his own CHS record of 17 sacks a year ago.”

He is so fun to watch. A total wrecking ball. If his size and skill set translate to this level, he's going to be a very good player.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 11:35 pmTalon Marsh

Talon Marsh was a monster. There were a couple series where he just took over.

Tom Carter? I thought his dad was Lee Carter, the MSU linebacker from the early 90s, is that incorrect?VimSince03 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 12, 2022 1:06 pmTom's dad played for Wyoming.
